Vehicle Detail
1970 Triumph 500 Trophy T100C Greetings ! this bike needs worked on and is being sold as is : A Bike in need of repair. the Top secret low reserve price reflects its condition. (It starts with a 2 and the second number is also low). The top end is tired ,the rings are worn out and it needs to be re-bored to plus .040.The new pistons rings wrist pins and circlips are included along with a new topend gasket kit. The wiring harness is terrible and is Chafed and ratty and has been added to and subtracted from and is tattered torn and greasy ,which is why I am including a brand new British made reproduction wiring harness. Its for a 1972 model 500 and may have some extra wires for turnsignals and flashers but otherwise should work fine, part number 5459628a, see photo. You also get the repro parts book with this as well as the crankcase shield and centerstand, any other parts I find that belong to this I will throw in also. The Title is CLEAR and in my name. The speedometer works good but the speedometer gearbox spit its gears out onto the pavement right on my boot as I pulled to the curb.(see photo) Either get a new one or shove the gears back in and pin it with a set screw. in the last four days the ignition has developed the bad manner of starting easily reving cleanly idling nicely then breaking up and quitting about 3 to 5 minutes later and then, upon restarting, kicking back as if the timing advanced and back firing and running raggedly. It also cuts out if you turn the handlebars suddenly from left to right or stand it up suddenly from the sidestand .throw the old wiring harness away into a dark corner for salvage and put the new one in. it also could be a bad coil or the brain box of the Boyer or the brain box of the Sparx three phase alternator ?? I don't know . This is a bike that has served me very well that was built for me in 2007 and I have been using it ever since. It was a bike that I used as a daily driver during the good weather and occaisionally took camping up in the mountains in the Caibou-Targhee National forest. It handles well, is rugged and has ample torque for climbing hills. The Gearing is best for the forest roads with a 55 tooth rear sprocket on the back but right now it has a road gearing set up 20 tooth front and 47 tooth rear which gives over 20 mph in first gear.I re-ringed it with plus 20 rings back a year and roughly 3000 miles ago.It needs a top end Job as the compression is getting low and it uses oil if you drive it hard and fast on the freeway,I am including a set of +.040 Pistons and rings for that purpose. If you just ride it on the trails and roads and around town say 25 -50 mph it uses much much less oil .I installed a 220 watt Sparx three phase alternator and a Boyer Bransden electronic igniton and new coils as well as a sealed no maintenance battery about a year and a half ago.Happy Bidding I reseve the right to block bidders that have low or negative feedback. No overseas bidders. If you have any questions feel free to email them to me I will answer the best I can.The Buyer is responsible for picking this up .The Trucking companies do a good job ,they pull up right in front of my house and I roll the bikes out my gate and they drop the lift gate pick them up and strap em in and away they go. Daily direct trucking has been here twice. there are many other good trucking companies too.You will have to make your own arrangements. Best regards Charles
