Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE A little history on this truck and why I am selling it. I purchased this nice truck a year ago to pull my Bass boat. I went down to Southern Ill. Eldorado, Ill. (Near Lexington Kentucky) and found a nice rust free pick-up. It is a 1989 GMC 1500 Short Bed ½ ton. I am selling it because I sold my bass boat and really do not need a second vehicle. I had every intention of keeping it for years so I repaired and replaced everything I could find that was either not working right or worn out. I am 70 years old and keep anything I own in the best of shape. Since I bought it I have put new tires ( Kelly Safari Trex P235/70R16 on custom rims with wheel locks), New Radiator, New Battery and gone through the front end replacing Upper ball joints, Tie rod end, Pitman Arm and all upper control Arm bushings with the adjuster kits, plus A new muffler and tail pipe. This truck has Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Factory Tilt Wheel, Power Steering, Cruse Control, Factory Air Conditioning, Factory Bucket Seats with Console. The carpet is like new and the seats are real nice originals. Everything works great. The original tape player did not work and I had a new Kenwood Stereo installed that has a CD/MP3 player with a USB input so you can listen to music on a memory stick, also a input jack so you can plug in your iPod. I also added a Sirius Tuner so you can also listen to Sirius radio (subscription required). I added a bed liner with a fiberglass topper that has new latches that both lock, inside light with an accessory plug at the rear. A New Class III Reese towing hitch. Also new Monroe gas shocks up front and Monroe air shocks in the rear. New axle seals, rear wheel cylinders and brakes, front brakes are disk and are in very good shape. Under-neath the bumpers are still clean, shiny and rust free unlike many Northern trucks that just have the chrome remaining. The truck had the 700r4 automatic transmission rebuilt before I got it and it had the shift kit installed in it and shifts flawlessly. The actual mileage is 137, 384 miles and is original. It has the 350 center port fuel injection engine and the fuel injection body has been overhauled within the past 2 months. I have over $ 5,500.00 invested in it and an asking $ 3,900.00 firm, this truck drives like new and has a very nice ride unlike many ½ ton trucks. I have only put a little over 6,000 miles on it since I bought it. I drove it to Colorado from Michigan for several weeks of fishing and it used ½ quart of oil in over 3,000 miles. (That trip was made pulling a small pop-up camper) Included is a New 10x 10 tent that has a boot that goes up over the topper making it a nice camper. (see photos) I have a bed installed in the back with foam pads and it is a very good bed to sleep on. I haven’t used the tent at all other than to put it on to see how it works. Under the bed is a drawer that slides out to store camping gear. The bed can be removed in about 15 to 20 minutes for general use.
