1962 FORD FAIRLANE 500 SPORT COUPE ALL STOCK 260 V8, 2 speed automatic,am radio, manual windows, no power brakes or steering and no a/c. This car is completely original stock with matching #s the color is Marroon and the paint is in great shape with no rust . Everything works, heat, lights, horns,wipers, windows and door locks.The car has a three guages, water temp,oil pressure, and voltage guages as well as a steering wheel mounted tach. The interior was just redone with new insulation, carpeting, factory door panels and kick panels, seat covers including factory matching emblems on door panels and seats. Roof liner in great shape only one small spot on rear post. Also the rear window shelf was redone in metal with new carpeting to match. The car has all drum brakes with American Racing Alluminum Mags and new Radial tires. Recent tuneup includes cap,rotor and wires as well as a new water pump and single wire Alternator. The trunk is very clean, carpeted , with a new spare tire and a fire extinguisher,(required at most classic car shows). This car has won two trophies so far this year. 1962 was the first year of the downsize of the fairlane and continued in 63 and 64 before it was resized in 65. It had the small v8 a predecessor for the 289 and also a predecessor for the 1964 Fairlane Thunderbolt. I also have many extra parts and some chrome that will be included including the original Generator which has now been replaced with a single wire Alternator. The car runs 100% with no problems. The gas tank and straps is also brand new. Now for the bad. The hood has a small Quarter size dent and a scratch about 1 inch long. The right rear bumper has a small dent although the chrome on both bumpers is in great shape with no pitting. The engine has a small oil leak like most Fords from the timing cover gasket only when driven at high speeds 55 MPH. This should be an easy fix I just haven't had the time although I have the parts. This is a true rare bird, I go to shows all over and have yet to find another, Even other web sites like cars on line .com don't even have any 1962's never the less Sport Coupes. If youy like Fords then you must see and drive this one. I love this car but after redoing the interior and completing the car for my son he wanted to cut it up and make a race car out of it and I won't let him. I refuse to let him ruin a true classic that is all original and all there. And so we sell it with great regret however it will make someone very happy and my son can cut up something else in not such good shape.
