1988 BMW M5 3" BOOK OF SERVICE RECORDS. ORIGINAL PURCHASE ORDER! 30+ PHOTOS OF THIS CA CAR BELOW! The first BMW M5, based on the E28 5 Series, made its debut at Amsterdam Motor Show in February 1984. It was the product of demand for an automobile with the carrying capacity of a saloon (sedan), but the overall performance of a sports car. It utilized the 535i chassis and an evolution of the engine from the BMW M1. At its launch, the E28 M5 was the fastest production sedan in the world. Why buy this BMW M5? If you've been looking for a nice M5 to enjoy with great documentation, your search is over. This particular car has a 2.5" binder of all the service records and repairs made which starts with the original Sales Contract when it was sold new in Beverly Hills, CA. This is fitting as these cars were expensive back then with a MSRP of over $40,000.00. This one was sold with 62 miles as a demo model to a gentleman who lived in our neighboring city of Newport Beach, CA for $37395.00 plus tax and license. The rest is history, history lovingly placed in a 3 ring binder documenting all the maintenance that was done to this car since it was new. Cosmetically the car is in great condition for it's age. The paint still has good shine. The front seats have been redone but, the rear seat is original and is a little faded. The dash in AMAZING, there are NO CRACKES whatever.
