Straight body with 10 year old bare metal repaint in attractive Grey Metallic. 5 Speed. Rare 15" deep six Fuchs alloy wheels. Correct year engine, but upgraded with Mechanical Fuel Injection. 30K miles on engine rebuild. Excellent compression readings. Good shifting gearbox. Recent service completed with documentation. Additional parts include new original style center license panel, rear chrome bumper guards and new original style Durant side mirror. Body, Paint and Trim The body is in very good condition having been well cared for by it's previous owners. All body panels are straight with excellent gaps. The body is free of dents. The underside has no serious rust, except for the front suspension pan. This is an $800 repair. While this area shows some rust, the car is driveable as is and the front suspension feels solid while driving. The original center license plate panel was replaced with an aftermarket later 911 fiberglass style panel, but an original center panel is included with the car so the rear can be easily be brought back to it's original configuration. Side mirror is also an aftermarket, but a correct new Durant mirror is included. The current Grey Metallic paint was professionally completed approximately 10 years ago and remains in good condition overall. There is some crazing in the paint on the right section of the rear deck lid and one paint chip on the right lower corner of the deck lid edge. The rest of the paint shows only a few minor blemishes. All glass and trim was removed prior to the repaint and the body was stripped to bare metal. Optioned with the S trim package, the chrome and aluminum trim parts remain in good condition. Glass is all original and clear. There are a couple of cracks in the rear lenses. An extra rear lens will be included. All rubber weatherstripping is in fair condition. The Targa top vinyl is in fair condition. Interior The interior is in fair condition with highback Porsche seats installed for added comfort and safety. A correct original pair of seats are available for purchase separately. The original dash is in very nice condition considering it's age with only a couple of the usual cracks. Door panels, rear side panels and carpet are in fair condition. The gauges, switches and knobs on the dash are all present. A custom speaker enclosure is installed over the rear seats, but the original rear seats and panels are included. Electricals Headlights (low and high beams), tail lights, hazard flasher, brake lights, turn signals, license plate lights, horn, stereo and windshield wipers are functional. Fog lights are not currently not working. The starter and alternator are functioning fine. All instruments are functional, except for the clock, oil level gauge and odometer which currently reads 49,517 miles. The battery is brand new. Engine and Transmission While the engine case is not stamped with an engine number, the part numbers on the engine case halves (901.101.101.3R on the left half and 901.101.102.2R on the right half) indicate it to be a correct 2.2 liter engine case. Per the last owner, the engine was rebuilt approximately 30,000 miles ago and upgraded with mechanical fuel injection (MFI) system from a later 2.4 liter engine. Last owner also stated that race cams were installed, during last engine rebuild and engine may have been built out to a 2.4 liter. The engine runs well and has strong compression readings as listed below. The following engine related servicing was recently completed: adjust engine timing, file points, clean distributor cap & rotor, test spark plug wires, change engine oil, lube and adjust all throttle linkages, clean idle air bypasses, check injection pump timing, adjust engine pump rack for midrange smoothness, remove and clean pump thermostat. Also a recent engine compression test resulted in the following strong readings: CYL 1 = 162psi, CYL 2 = 162psi, CYL 3 = 165psi, CYL 4 = 166psi, CYL 5 = 158psi, CYL 6 = 162psi The 5 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly into all five forward gears and reverse gear. Shocks, Wheels, Tires and Brakes All four shocks are in good condition. Steering is light and direct, with excellent road feel. Wheel alignment is correct and car tracks straight at high speed. An optional rear sway bar is installed. Three of the four wheels are the rare 15" x 6" deep Fuchs alloys. The fourth is a non-deep 15" x 6" Fuchs alloy. All wheels are in good condition with some showing minor blemshes. Four Kumho radial tires (size 215/55HR15) are installed and in good condition with no cracks or worn tread. The four wheel disc brakes have been recently serviced, including brake fluid flush and checked pads and calipers. The emergency brake was also recently adjusted and holds tight. Extra Parts and Documentation The following extra parts are included: Original rear seats, new original style rear license panel, new correct Durant side mirror and one extra rear tail light lens. Documentation includes recent service record which includes the engine compression test results.
