Vehicle Detail
1967 Pontiac GTO. This was originally a 4-speed car with heater delete option. The number three piston is broken and it currently does not run. It has a TH400 transmission and a factory original heater installed. I do not have the original heater block off plate. The clutch pedal is still installed, it has been wired up to keep it out of the way. I will list as much information as I can, if there is a specific question or additional pictures required please e-mail me. Engine: 428 four bolt main bored .060 over. (#3 piston crown is broken, cylinder head has been removed). Full roller valve train, KRE rocker stud girdle, titanium retainers w/ 10 deg. locks and lash caps, Ferea stainless steel valves, Ported #12 Ram Air III cylinder heads ( see pics ), MSD ignition system 6AL box, pro billet distributor and timing controller, ported Edelbrock Torquer Two with heat cross over removed, Holley 780 CFM 4150 with Pro-form body, aluminum radiator, Derale electric cooling fan. I haven't disassembled the engine beyond pulling the L.H. cylinder head, so I don't know what caused the piston to break, it looks as if it may have contacted the head quench area. The crank does turn freely though with the normal amount of resistance. Transmission: As I mentioned this is originally a 4-speed car, but the M-21 and 10.5 inch clutch simply couldn't hold the power of the 428. It currently has a TH400 with a 6th direct clutch added, a full level 3 shift kit and a Continental 3,000 RPM stall converter, and a 50,000 GVW external auxilary trans fluid cooler. The Muncie 4-speed, complete with bellhousing will go with the car. Rear end: The rear differential is a 12 bolt positraction with Richmond 3.90:1 gears, tubular rear control arms with poly graphite bushings. Chassis: It has been converted to front disc brakes using SSBC kit, Wilwood adjustable proportioning valve, Competition Engineering adjustable shocks front and rear, front end completely rebuilt using poly graphite bushings (except for lower control arm bushings), new ball joints, it has been converted to manual steering, Cragar Drag lite wheels on back, and Weld Pro lite wheels on front, Mickey Thompson 5x15 front tires, factory gas tank has been removed and a fuel cell installed in the trunk, the battery has been relocated to the trunk with a master shut off switch installed. Exhaust: Hooker super comp wrapped headers, dual 3 inch exhaust with cross over, Goerlich Xlerators mufflers with turn downs in front of rear diff., Heated oxygen sensors installed on both collectors. Interior: The interior is bassically complete, There is a brand new headliner with new rods and "earmuffs", along with a new dome light fixture that needs to be installed, B&M quarter stick shifter, various additional gages, and switches installed. Fuel pressure gage is mounted on the exterior to the cowl, Simpson racing lap belts have been installed as well. Body: The body has it's issues, I would say it is what they call a "50 foot" car. There is some visible cancer, and I 'm sure some that is not visible. I can also see some places where Bondo is present. It would need to be completely restored for shows, or left alone and use it for lots of fun (as I did ). Please email me any questions or picture requests at adamscarcrafters@yahoo.com, the car is being sold absolutely as is, the winning bidder is responsible for pick up and transportation. I will hold the car for winning bidder if arrangments are made with me directly. If no arrangments are made, after 14 days I will cancel the transaction and any deposits will not be refunded.
