Vehicle Detail
1984 Toyota FJ60 I am selling what is, in my opinion, probably the coolest SUV ever made. I purchased the vehicle with the intent of restoring it back to its original glory but have not made any progress. I guess its probably a good thing since I have 4 kids and a business. Anyway, I had high aspirations to fill the tank of this ride with tons of TLC the reality is I am not in a season in my life where i can do that. So as a result I must let her go. Below is a list of everything I know: The Good:runs well - doesnt sputter or miss and feel very strongrecently tuned up - new plugs, wires, distributor capcarburator was just rebuilt - this is huge because this is one of the biggest issues with the FJ 60'snew muffler and exhaust pipe recently installedupholstery is in pretty good shape gas gauge works well and is accuratetemp gauge is accuratespeedometer works wellrear wiper worksrear defrost worksstereo worksheater workshorn workstransmission is strong with NO slippage4x4 works great with no issuesBF Goodrich T/A tires with good tread life leftgreat wheelsvents articulate correctlyLooks great and shines up nicelydoors open and lock wellhas carpet (when I was looking it was amazing how many didnt even have carpet!)headlights and high beams worksits up nicely and looks great! Needs Work:Rust in the normal places on an FJ 60 - above rear wheels, door jambs, bottom of quarter panels and under the paint in a few placesbattery is weak and will need to be replaced at some pointa few of the light covers are broken or crackedA/C does not workstereo does not turn down after you turn it up and screen does not displayshort somewhere or fuse is out - dash lights and tail lights do not work (brake lights work fine)vinyl on sides of seats is tornhas dings and bruises over most of herrear leaf springs seem like they will need replaced at some pointback hatch lock does not unlock from outsidewindow gears slip when rolling up and downDash has a crack in it Most of the cosmetic stuff you can see from the pictures but if you have any specific questions please feel free and ask. I want to be clear though that I am not selling this as a restored FJ60 (then the buy-it-now price would be about $30K-$50K) and it does have items that need to be address as you can see from my list. Though the great thing about this truck is it looks really great as it is right now and can be driven as-is and you may never want to address the items that would need work. It could be a great rock crawler, beach ride, or just week end man-mobile. No kidding - in one day I have 3 different guys within 1 hour stop me to ask me about my Land Cruiser and to tell me how awesome they thought it was. On a side note, I just bought my wife a 2008 Ford expedition out of Houston and did a lot of reasearch on getting vehicles shipped and I made some great contacts. I found out that it only costs about a dollar a mile to ship a vehicle anywhere in the US and I would gladly help put you in touch with some reputiable freight companies to arrange shipping if that were something that you needed help with. My "buy it now" price is really low so i imagine it will probably sell that way fairly quickly through that route, however, this is a no reserve auction so no matter what someone is going to own this awesome truck when its over. Good luck bidding!
