1966 LEMANS CONVERTIBLE/ GTO CLONE/GOOD INVESTMENT! Hello my Ebay friends! Here goes another great deal...! For those who haven't dealt with me before, I love to make deals and also make people laugh... With that said; Let get another auction going... This 1966 Pontiac Lemans convertible is one solid unmolested car. And with some TLC, this could be one sweet ride... * NO, it's not going to make you 19 again, but it will take you back in time... * NO, it's not going to make you better looking... However, that would depend on how much partying she's done before you started talking... lol * YES, REAL ESTATE & STOCKS ARE VERY RISKY... and the best bet going is DETROIT MUSCLE! * YES, Some things go down, and stay down... But with muscle cars and those whom love them, THE VALUE WILL CONTINUE TO GO UP! Always has, always will... I took as many pics as I could to best represent the car and what's included. I don't believe in taking "FOO-FOO" pictures, I only take straight on, let the car do the talking pictures... A/C car Bucket car "Can be your" car... "Don’t delay, buy today"., "It’s guaranteed not to rust, bust collect dust, mold or mildew... These are quotes from Famed Cleveland Mechanics: AL/ FLASH/ and RED If you’ve wanted a solid 1966 GTO or GTO Clone convertible, or wanted a car to make a GTO CLONE, or perhaps, use your true GTO to donate the stuff needed, to make your own GTO come to life again...? The possibilities are endless with this car... I bought this car wanting to have a GTO ‘CLONE’! This is the perfect candidate for a GTO ‘CLONE’! This is a super clean car, that I was going to paint. The paint has ben taken down and the body is in nice shape. Some people, may paint their cars with the "Tiger Stripe effect" to take the visual away from the obvious problems of their car's body issues; I've never represented worse cars that way, and certainly don't have to do this with this barn find! My 66 is not a trailer queen, not a museum piece, but it is by far the best bang for the buck... Look around at the "other deals" and you'll see that I just want the car to go to a good home. My interest is just elsewhere right now, so she’s gonna go... I never understood WHY? A person would buy a car thinking it’s a good price, when once they replace everything... They have a ton of money into something that’s "put together"... And when it's said and done; it's still a silk dress on a pig! That's a bad investment... This car needs nothing but a new convertible top and paint done... No patches, it has the original drive train, and comes with re chromed bumpers, head light bezels and tail light brows... ( Good Chrome is so expensive!) Read and look at the pictures... My car is a true A/C car, and it's all there My car is a true floor shift /console/ and bucket seat car... My car has a CLEAN original GTO hood That’s in just as good of shape, as the body of this car! The GTO hood insert was off for painting and is boxed up! Drive train: Original 326 V-8 runs pretty good on pump gas 78,000 State of Ohio certified miles Original power glide The transmission shifts correctly Original bucket seat car * Seats in nice shape/ with original metal backs * Door panels are in nice shape * Carpet in good shape, but needs cleaned, replaced if you go show... * Deluxe seat belts * Dash is NOT all cracked up, nor CUT up! * Car has remote mirror that works fine, and is boxed up. Original Air Condition car (Everything is in place as it should!) Paint/color Original Factory Martinique Bronze code "T" (gold) , with medium fawn (gold) interior and power black top She steers straight (No leanig front tires!) The exhaust is quiet The brakes are drum Factory clock option Factory Tachometer option on console Factory Pontiac Rally 2 rims, with trim rings Factory PMD chrome center caps Dual exhaust all the way back to the rear bumper with correct hangers The wiring, has not been messed with! All original... How about this? This cars body was extremely well preserved... This car was sprayed with a STP rust preventative when it was new. See the pics inside the door, and around the rear section... Apparently it wasn’t driven in the rust belt areas. Quarters: NO ROT/ NO Car held together with bondo! Floors: Not a hole/ patch. NOTHING! Frame: No extra welds, NO PATCHES, NO crispy surprises, NOTHING but well preserved original frame. THIS 1966 LEMANS CONVERTIBLE HAS ABSOLUTELY NO "DOOR SAG", THE DOORS OPEN AND SHUT WITH LITTLE EASE, AS THEY SHOULD! THE DOORS ARE LIKE THE REST OF THE BODY, SOLID! Trunk/ No patches and no surprises The trunk lip is completely in tact, no rot, no past repairs/ 100% original metal Rockers: Let’s just say they are just as clean as the rest of the car... Factory Harrison radiator No leaks Factory radiator support is clean Firewall is clean Fender wells are clean Rear wheel housings are clean Inside lower quarters, have the original factory rubber drip seals! Important note! Read the ad, it’s all going, and I wish the best to the winning bidder. I WILL NOT SELL outside of Ebay I WILL NOT REVEAL THE RESERVE. I enjoy selling on Ebay and I want this car to go to someone that will completely enjoy it! This car is priced to sell , and it’s set so the everyday working guy can afford it! THE BETTER: I have the following parts that are going with the car (1) beautiful, original factory GTO Hood on the car, MATH: What do these cost? This hood is super clean on top and below (See Pic) (1) Extra GTO hood Original 1966 GTO Tail light metal bezels ( 2 sets are going with the car) Original Factory GTO tail lights ( 1 set) EXTRA’s : (1) Set of disc brakes (Rotors/ calipers) (1) Extra set of fairly new rear springs (1) Extra GTO hood/ spare for the next project., or sell? (1) The original Lemans hood/ in beautiful shape/ plus I am including a GTO cut out from another hood for a conversion.. It has been done by famed 2nd generation Chrome plater Butch Carrington from Custom Chrome and Polish in Cleveland Ohio. MATH: Calculate what it would cost you to pick up professional chrome work after buying a car that needed it.... ALL THE CHROME SHINES LIKE A MIRROR (CHECK PICTURES PLEASE) Look at the pictures of the baby with the chrome, the chrome work is just like a mirror! NO Brown tint/ NO Blue tint/ NO hazed blurriness Front Bumper LOOKS GREAT Rear bumper looks great Head light bezels look great Tail light ‘brows’ look stunning! If a long distance buyer purchases the car And doesn’t want the extra’s, I will re list the extra’s, and donate the money to charity. It is the purchaser’s decision I can see that logistics could hamper all the extras. The winning bid, is the winning bid. If the buyer, decides to decline on the extras, the WIINING BID/ price will not be negotiated. THE NEGATIVES?: 1 The car clearly needs a new top ( Fabric is in horrible shape, mechanism's is fine) 2 The car needs repainted 3. The remote mirror is dull, but works great! 4. The LEMANS letters on the quarters were not in good shape/ some missing/ thus gone. 5. I do have some of the original 'Tower hose clamps" in a box 6. Front PONTIAC hood arrow is missing 7. The car should have the front springs replaced (Not broken, just old) I have supplied good rears! The rest of the body moldings/trim are in nice shape and are safely placed in the trunk. Many boxes of extra’s were placed in the car after the interior pics were taken (1) day after/ NO SURPRISES) REAL IMPORTANT The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs, and applicable taxes. However, Your taxes are your business, NOT MINE! 1a I will need a 3 day window and applicable contact information with shipper, if you so decide. 1b I will need email verification of your wishes pertaining to the vehicles title and bill of sale. You would either choose the driver signing for it, or I can send it certified mail for additional applicable fees. 1c The car WILL NOT LEAVE, until funds have cleared, NO EXCEPTIONS 2 I require a 25% deposit within 24 hours of auctions end. (Serious buyers/ non refundable) This is to be paid with United States Postal money orders, with the balance to be paid (Within 5 days) with the same aforementioned funds, or cash only. 2a I can store the car safely for a period of (2) weeks after close of auction 3 I will not take bids from overseas UNLESS: You can pay with USPS money orders. 4 I do not take part in paypal, personal checks, business checks, certified checks CASH OR POSTAL MONEY ORDERS ONLY! Seeing that the top is ragged out, if you are going to ship with shipper I can cover the top section with thick plastic and some gorilla tape. Which might leave some residue on the car, but will prevent rain from getting inside the car! Once the buyer has paid for the car I will send email verification of completed sale. However, once the car is paid for, and once it leaves my property, I WILL NOT ACCEPT any liability as far as insurance in it’s transportation. I have explained as best as I can, I didn’t take fancy pictures, at fancy angles, trying to hide something... I didn’t try to paint something up, trying to make this car look like a museum piece.... But I assure "any and all" that this car is a really nice piece of history... I just sold my 1966 GTO convertible, and just read the feedback! There is no need in trying to ‘get over’ on anyone, cause God didn’t intend for us to be that way... This car is priced to sell, and I wish any who bid the best of luck. This car is in nice solid shape and comes with many extras, do the math... This car is intact other than the trim being on the car, for which when a car is painted, it's coming off anyway... You are going to waste alot of time, gas and money searching for things that other cars amy be missing. You're not going to waste money on missing interior parts, missing body parts, putting floors in, looking for a period correct drive train, and certainly you can do the math about the chrome! You don't have to chase down a title, you'll have no worries about dealing with an honest guy, because most of my transactions have been cars, or high end car parts... I didn't spend the last 8 years getting a score of 75 good deals selling video games and bubble gum cards... Just look at my last deal., I'm a serious car nut, and I know someone is going to be very happy. FOR THE RECORD: I'm not on drugs, nor have any financial problems, it's just my interests have changed and it's time to let this girl go to a good home like my GTO did last week or so to Wisconsin. I am not interested in side deals or "Flim Flam", so any and all scammer’s need not contact me! GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS, OUR NATION AND REMEMBER THIS: WHEN YOU THINK YOU HAVE IT BAD, LOOK AROUND; THERE ARE OTHERS THAT HAVE IT WORSE AND MAYBE DON'T HAVE THE LUXURY OF BEING ABLE TO DO OUR CAR THING... HAPPY BIDDING! On Oct-13-11 at 21:28:36 PDT, seller added the following information: IMPORTANT NOTE: I also have: A complete 1966 GTO tail light metal section from original 1966 GTO. It was cut out carefully and enough metal was left to ensure that a good fit could be applicable. I just got off the phone with ebay and I was told I can't ad pictures seeing that there are bids on the ole girl... So, if anyone wants a picture, just email and ask... CLARIFICATION: This car is coming with: (1) Super clean original GTO hood that is currently on the car. (1) Decent GTO hood (1) Original Lemans hood (Super clean off this car!) (1) GTO "Cut out" off of another 66 GTO, to be used on a Lemans conversion to GTO. I wanted to clarify it, maybe I read it wrong... EXTRA PARTS: Once the car is paid for 100%, the winning bidder will be allowed to store the additional parts here for (30) days after the car is paid in full. I have a driveway that will be easy access for a pick up and trailer to come pick up. ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS: Just ask, if I'm having a good health day, I will answer promptly, if not; give me a day or 2. GOOD LUCK! On Oct-17-11 at 16:52:55 PDT, seller added the following information: QUESTIONS and ANSWERS: CAR 'S CONDITION: I thought I put this in there, but I'll ad this in... The car runs pretty good,(She has an HEI) but I bet it would run better with a new tune up. (Plugs/ wires/ maybe a carb go through...) She never knocked or pinged when I drove her. No rear end noises, no tranny clunking or anything like that. I WOULDN'T ATTEMPT TO DRIVE HER HOME: I wouldn't suggest to anyone to drive this car home! She's 45 years old and I think I would trailer her home. The top is in really bad shape, and the trim is off for the paint (WIng windows/ door handles) might prove to be a awful cold ride! Smart money says that with a find like this that you might wanna be a little smarter and know the car 100%. Take ehr home, get to know her, and fall in love slowly... Works with women, has to work with a classic car... I can tell ya that I once drove my 1970 Chevy Impala ragtop back from Hickory North Carolina with a bad top, and after stopping to dry off, getting a load of duct tape and subsequently catching a bad cold, I wouldn't do it again... lol IMPORTANT NOTICE: DO NOT BID/ if you have less than 10 deals/ or 2 without a major purchase please! IN CLOSING: This car ran and I drove the car before I took the bumpers and trim off to be painted. She’s not a trailer queen, and certainly NOT the garbage junk that I have seen on Ebay. You wanna know about what I seel? Just ask my last buyer Good luck all
