1973 Mercedes Benz 450SLC 30K Miles! Great condition 40+ Photos Below "Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes-Benz?" That's the opening line of "Mercedes-Benz," a song most famously recorded by singer Janis Joplin in the early 1970s. The tune gently poked fun at materialism and our desire for the finer things in life. It's fitting that the renowned German marque figures prominently in the lyric. Mercedes-Benz has long been known for crafting vehicles that emphasize luxury and refinement. For many, its vehicles are sleek symbols of status, success and achievement. The same goes for the 450SLC which is a fixed roof version of the SL. Why buy this MBZ 280SE 3.5? If you're looking for a nice solid 450SLC coupe to drive and enjoy your search is over. This particular tan/red leather car is as good a representation of a driver as you will find. The odometer shows 30844 miles. We purchased the car under the assumption that it is actual miles and based on the condition we believe it's actual and have some records and copies from a maintenance log on this SLC450. The fact that it survived the times without being hacked and cheaply repaired is apparent in your first drive in this particular car. It's a tight driving car without the creeks and rattles you commonly find in the average 38 year old car. The engine fires up on the first crank, idles smoothly and pulls stong all the way to it's upper reving limits. The transmission shifts as it should in all it's gears. The power accessories operate properly including the sunroof. Cosmetically, this car is in great condition. It is an older quality repaint in the original color. There are no major dings or scraches and the paint still has good shine but, it's not show quality. The only sign of rust that we found in on the passenger side quarter forward of the rear wheel opening below below the door molding. Prime examples like this are climbing fast in value.
