What you see here is my 81 diesel pup pickup. If you're looking for a cherry then back up and look somewhere else 'cause you won't find it here. What you will find however is an amazing little truck that refuses to die and gets incredible mileage while running on anything you pour in it that resembles oil. I am the 2nd owner and have had it about 4 years and have drove it on a daily basis while racking up about 60,000 miles. With the skinny tires that came on it I was getting 38.5-40 mpg on a regular basis. When I put on the wide tires it dropped to 34-35mpg. Let's start with the things that are wrong- some idiot took out ALL the heat and a/c components, ductwork,heater core, controls, EVERYTHING, and installed a heater unit under the dash from an old Bronco. It works great but is rediculous. Body is fairly straight but has a lot of long deep scratches and a lot of lower body and frame rust including the cab mounts and floorboard. Parts of dash missing. Seat is solid but looks like crap. Paint is not good. Tires are not all that great but a used $25 tire will run on this little truck forever. Overall visual appearance is a 2.5 out of 10 points. Now for the good points- it starts and runs like a jewel in any weather. The truck can pass Missouri safety inspection. It has been a daily driver for 4 years and has never let me down. I have only had to replace the alternator and water pump plus normal wear items like belts and brakes. When I first got it the transmission was noisy so I did the later model transmission swap and they operate much smoother than the original. You can see in the picture that it has current plates. I drove it today and will drive it tomorrow. This truck is not fast and has zero luxuries but is dependable and the mileage is incredible. This truck would be a great candidate to put the drivetrain in a S-10 or a Ranger or keep as is and start saving money on your commute to work immediately. If you come to pick up the truck, I have another that you are free to take any parts from that you like except for drivetrain related items. I'm keeping them for a transplant project. Along with this truck I'm giving you my homemade biodiesel mixer [see picture], approximately 100 gallons of used cooking oil and the recipie for my idiot proof homemade biodiesel! You'll be making your own fuel for about $ .60 a gallon. Have access to a lot of used hydraulic oil? Filter and mix 50/50 with diesel or biodiesel. This truck loves that stuff. While driving the truck yesterday the throwout bearing started squealing whenever pushing down the clutch. It still drives ok for now but will only get worse with time. It only squeals when pushing the clutch and makes a little hard to go into gear when sitting still. I bought a new bearing today and will try to change before you get here to pick up. If I don't get changed in time I will give you back $200. You can change yourself or use the money to pay to have it changed. You can still drive. Thank's
