1991 Corvette ZR1 Extremely clean and well cared for original ’91 ZR1. This is a true 1 owner car. Still owned and titled to the original owner. I am listing the car for him. The car and title are in my possession. Feel free to ask any questions or request more pictures. The owner can be present at the close of the sale but asked that I handle the sale up to that point. Car was purchased new 11/27/90 with 118 miles. Purchased off the showroom floor at Tom Bannen Chevrolet in Madison TN. Window sticker was $65583. Owner has lived in the Nashville area since he purchased the car. Car has always been garage kept. Owner stated he honestly cannot remember the car ever sitting outside overnight. Currently has 73949 miles on it. I have detailed this car to the level that is shows like a 10k mile car. I do not detail with paint cans. That takes the originality out of a car. I detail back to showroom status. Not a must sell. Car has been paid for since the day it left the lot. NADA shows low retail $13950. Bid carefully because the reserve is well below that price. Reserve price IS NOT a buy it now price. Car is completely original and has never had any paintwork. This is a true survivor and there is no disputing the collectability of this car. Standard ZR1 Special Performance Package includes 17x9.5 front wheels and 17x11 rear wheels. Heavy Duty braking system, Electronic Climate Control, Selective ride and Handling Package, Leather Sport seats, 6 way power seats, Low tire pressure warning, Bose CD/Cassette stereo and Solar Glass windshield. Other option included was dual roof panels (painted and glass top). Exterior- 100 percent original paint. Car has never had any paintwork since purchased new. I’m not going to say it is perfect but it is extremely nice and with a little effort could be perfect. But it is only original once which is why I advised the owner keep it original. The front bumper has some road rash, consistent with 70K + miles. The belt molding on the rear bumper cover needs to be touched up and the front license plate has a scratch. There is no way to hide anything with original paint. All emblems are in excellent shape and the outer door weather strips are all original and in great shape. The front spoiler has some scuffs on it and the glass top shows some minor hazing. Car comes with both a painted and a glass top. Owner said he doesn’t recall ever driving with the painted top installed on the car. Interior- 100 percent original interior. Black leather sport seats in great shape. Very minor wear on bolster from entry/exit. Car is great. Owner kept floor mats in while driving the car. Carpeted door sills and speaker covers are probably the nicest I’ve seen in a C4 since these cars were new. Steering wheel shows little if any wear. No fading on the interior and everything still works like it should. Drive train- Original drive train except the battery (AC Delco battery), oil and air filter. LT5 motor has great power and transmission shifts smooth without any grinding. Clutch feels strong as do the brakes. AC blows cold and has been converted to 134 freon. Owner stated the car has always been serviced with Mobil 1 Synthetic oil since new and has only been serviced at either Tom Bannen Chevrolet (Madison,TN) or Jim Reed Chevrolet (Nashville,TN). Tires were installed a few years ago and are matching Goodyear Eagle GSC tires with no signs of dry rot and plenty of tread. All wheels are original and show no signs of damage. Exhaust is all original as are the Bilstein shocks. Other- Chance to own a true 1 owner car, not a car purchased from the original owner and never title to the seller. This is the real deal plus comes with all the original paperwork from when it was new. 2 sets of keys and 2 power keys. I have owned over 20 Corvettes since 1990 and restored many of them. This car is a true survivor. Everything on this car is working and is all original. No doubt this car is and will become more collectable. First American production sports car to exceed 180 mph. To my knowledge the only time GM has ever farmed out the design and assembly of a motor for a Corvette, and top of the line Corvette none the less. The King of the Hill was a groundbreaking car. The reintroduction of the ZR1 by GM will only help these cars in the future. Known Problems- Service ABS light is on. GM dealer told the owner they scanned and could find nothing wrong but could not reset the light. Sometimes when driving the LTPWS (low tire pressure warning system) light comes on. Dealer told owner the sensors were receiving radio interference. I call B.S. on that one. Poorly designed sensors from my experience. Most likely a bad sensor. Long ago discontinued by GM. Sensors and warning light can been removed or you can sometimes find a good used sensor, if there is such a thing as a good one. They are wheel specific sensors unlike the current system. 73k mile car and does have some minor paint chips. Headlights work fine but will need the Delrin bushing upgrade at some time in the future. They all eventually have to have them. Terms of sale- Car is 20 years old and is being sold AS IS WHERE IS WITH NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. Please remember you are bidding to buy and NOT to look at and try to negotiate. That will not happen. Anyone is welcome to inspect the car or have it inspected while the auction is active. DO NOT BID/WIN and then decide to have it inspected for the purposes of negotiating the price. Winning bidder responsible for sending a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $500 within 3 days of auction close and balance must be paid in full and vehicle needs to be picked up within 10 days of auction close. The only forms of payment accepted are CASH MONEY or WIRE TRANSFER. The only way a Cashier Check is accepted is if the check is drawn on a bank with a Nashville area branch where the check can be cashed prior to the car leaving. I strongly encourage anyone interested to come and personally inspect the car prior to bidding/winning. Winning bidder is responsible for any/all future repairs needed to this vehicle and any/all costs associated with such repairs.
