This Charger was purchased new in Denver (See Skyline Dodge plaque on trunk) and had been in this shed, along with 30 other rare muscle cars for the last ten years. It was tucked in the very back corner...This Charger is a REAL L-Code R/T Charger, meaning that it has the monster 440 cu in HP (High Performance) motor. The car also has the original striping and paint on all body panels except for the right quarterpanel, which appears to have been replaced at one point. ALL THE NUMBERS MATCH...the body numbers on the radiator support match the trunk lid and the fender tag. The fender tag decodes the charger to be exactly what it appears to be...a 440 R/T with metallic blue paint and a white vinyl top.BODY: Body is in great shape, considering that it was found in a barn...it is very straight and the gaps are uniform. There are some dents in the rear and trunk but overall the car is in great shape. It does not appear that the car was ever hit and is original metal except for the right quarterpanel. Only bondo present is at the rear corner of the passenger door where the new quarterpanel was fitted at some point.RUST: Yes, there is rust but it is in the right areas...meaning that the floor is 99% solid save for a spot behind the driver's seat. See the pics of the car with the seats out and the shots of the undercarriage. The trunk floor is solid but will need to be replaced. The outer edges of the trunk are solid and thus only the pan will need to be replaced. The rust on the body is mostly isolated to the right quarterpanel. There is surface rust on the hood, roof and trunk lid but this is not cancerous. Window edges for the most part are solid and not rotting. See video for walk around and narrative of rust spots. NO RUST IN THE FRAME RAILS. This is an excellent candidate for restoration...we recently restored a 1969 Charger with extensive rust so we know our Chargers!!Drivetrain: THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION ARE NUMBERS MATCHING!! See pics for numbers that match the VIN. The car was stored with the spark plugs out of the motor and the engine will not turn, even after soaking the cylinders in WD40. The transmission will need to be rebuilt as well. The motor is complete with the exception of the air cleaner. Car is complete except for the rear seat back and some minor parts here and there. Although shown with two sets of wheels/tires, the Charger comes with the black "turbine" wheels. The tires are relatively new and are BFGs and Firestone brands.Click on any of the pics below to see them full-sized and make sure to check out the video below the pics: and Although this is not a NO RESERVE auction, the price is very reasonable compared to others currently for sale!
