For auction I re list a 1979 Rabbit 1.5 L Diesel with a 4 speed manual transmission. The car is in great shape and in good driving condition. It has tow mounts and a complete wire harness installed for towing behind a motor home. The car is light, about 1900lbs and it makes an ideal tow car. The body is in good shape and well taken care off through out all these years. Few little rust blisters, one on the drivers window pillar (see pix) and one blister on the bottom center of the windshield. There is some rust on the bottom of the battery tray and some acid damage below the front bumper on the chin spoiler panel.Probably some battery issues in the past. These parts have been cleaned, treated and protected with a rubberized undercoating. The paint on front of the car has some road wear but normal for the age and use of the car. The hood has a wave in the sheet metal finish on the passenger side (see pix) and one rock chip in the windshield (see pix). The rest of the car paint finish is great and shiny. Door jams, door sills and hinges are in good shape. Interior is clean with very little wear. Seats are in great shape with no rips and cracks, carpet has no wear holes and head liner is nice without tears. Door panels are in good shape and straight. Unfortunately the sun did his part on the dash and is deteriorate with cracks. I bought a dash cover in matching colors to cover the upper part and looks very presentable. The engine is running strong with no problems, no overheating issues or coolant loss. Oil consumption is normal and recently I replaced the valve cover gasket to take care a little leak. I replaced recently four new injectors and the injector pump because of a leak on the old pump. The idle quality and engine performance improved since the job. Clutch is very strong and smooth and the gear box shifts great without unusual noises. Brakes pads and rear shoes are at mid life and fully functional. E-brake works, and holds strong. Tires have 80% tread and no dry rot. Good silent wheel bearings. All electrical system works fine, alternator chargers correctly, cabin fan works on all three speeds with a good heater.
