Vehicle Detail
This Mini is titled as a 1979, but my research shows it is a 1989. It came from Germany and thus is a left hand drive. I believe the mileage to be accurate due to lack of wear on items such as upholstery and the overall condition of the car when I bought it. I've had this car 6 years during which time I quite literally rebuilt everything except the engine and transmission. It is a pleasure to drive and can maintain 70 mph all day long. The body is in excellent condition as it was when I bought it (2 minor rust spots). The car was completely stripped of all glass, seals and trim before it was painted (clear base coat/clear coat) All window, door, bonnet and boot seals are new. It has 4 new Falken 165/60R 12" tires mounted on Mini-Lite wheels. All hydraulics were overhauled and new brake pads installed. It has a Pertronix ignition and coil as well as new plug wires. The radiator was rebuilt and a new thermostat, radiator cap, hoses and belt were installed. The engine has a Stage One performance kit with a rebuilt SU HS-4 carb with proper jetting and a tuned header and DTM exhaust. A new dashboard was installed with new VDO volt meter, clock and oil pressure gauges. I just installed an electric fuel pump to add to reliability. While working in the engine area, I also installed a rebuilt starter and alternator as well as new throttle and choke cables. Inside, I installed a Mountney steering wheel and a new Boss Audio sound system and speakers. The headliner was also replaced. On the suspension, it has 4 new KYB gas shock absorbers, steering rack boots and rear wheel bearings. Besides the quality paint work, I also installed a Wipac spotlight set, stainless grill, stainless wiper arms and blades, new o.e.m. mirrors and mirror mounts, chrome door handles and boot handle. Additionally, I have a large box of odds and ends parts, service tools and manuals to go with it, as well as all receipts. I've shown it at a couple of All British car shows and have won a People's Choice Award and a second place. My wife really doesn't want me to sell this car, but I've done everything I want to on it and it's time to move on. You absolutely can't go wrong with this Mini!
