Vehicle Detail

Offered here is a nice used 1991 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. This was the last year for the 5.8 Liter (351 cubic-inch) High-Output V8. This car is the police package model but rather than being used and beat up by regular police service this one was special ordered by the Concord, NC Fire Dept. Unusual that it has a blue interior, I can only assume that since their regular police cars were white with a blue interior that this one got a special exterior color checked off on the order form but the standard blue interior remained. They used to say that cars from the South had unusual color combinations so maybe this car proves that saying ! The engine runs just fine and the transmission shifts well with no problems noted. The air conditioning blows cold. It drives very smooth and tight. The heavy-duty police suspension and sway bar makes this car drive much better than the civilian models. This car was special ordered brand-new by the Concord, NC Fire Department and has spent it's entire life in hot and sunny North Carolina. Doubtful that the car has ever seen snow or salted roads. We purchased this car directly from the original owners (The City of Concord, NC) so it has not had any other owners since it was in service with them. We here at Southern Motor Company have been selling used police package cars from the same location here in Pineville,North Carolina since 1987. The air conditioning system has been converted to use the new type R-134 freon and it is blowing cold air. There is a minor exhaust leak somewhere underneath, the mufflers appear to have been replaced sometime in the past, the catalytic converters are all stll in place. The alternator light does come on from time to time. The exterior paint is a special color code M4650 bright red. The car was repainted some years ago and the repaint appears to be a shade lighter red than the original paint. The paint is dull, peeling in spots and needs to be refinished again. There is some damage to the paint on the doors from the decal removal, rather than use a heat gun they just scraped the decals off. The paint is a bit darker than it shows up in the photos (old camera). The interior is blue velour cloth bench seat with folding armrests (power drivers seat), carpet, matching velour cloth rear seat, the headliner has one small tear and the rear sail panels could stand to be recovered because of sun damage. The car also has a left side spotlight, cruise control, power windows (all working), power door locks (drivers side switch is not working properly) , AM/FM stereo, and a front "ticket" light. The tires are Goodyear Eagle Gt+4's police pursuit radials, (all tires have very good tread but do have some age to them, if you plan on extended highway travel I would replace them) , heavy-duty, 15" X 7" police wheels with full factory chrome wheel covers, special police heavy-duty frame, heavy-duty front disc brakes, police suspension, certified 140-mph speedometer and much more. The full sized spare, jack and lug wrench are also in place in the trunk. This car is in great overall condition for a 20 year old police car, but that being said it is indeed 20 years old and some issues may develop due to age and normal wear and tear. Do not expect a new or a perfect car. This would be a great car to restore back into either a fire chief car or a police car. This car will have imperfections...paint damage, scratches, chips, nicks, and dings and dents, there is one hail dent in the roof and one hail dent in the hood, these should be visible in the photos. This is indeed a genuine police package Ford, the often cited "P71" code in the VIN did not start as a specific police model until the 1993 model year. The "G" code in the 8th digit of the VIN of this car signifies the 351 V8 which was only available in the US in the police package car.
