1975 BMW R 90/6 Mechanically Very good, and cosmetically beautiful, with new paint and hand striping that is outstanding. The bike had been stored outdoors, sometimes without a cover. The result was scratching and fading, but no structural damage, the re-paint was to bring the bike back to its original look. The frame, sub-frame, headlight bucket, and fork ears were all powder coated. Here are a number of pictures in order to show as accurately as possible the exact condition of the bike. Since removing from storage a comprehensive service was performed which included oil pan, valve cover, and head gaskets. All fluids, including the forks changed. New oil, air, and fuel filters, as well as fuel lines and petcocks were installed. A complete tune–up was performed, with rebuilt carburetors, new plugs, wires, and caps. New fork seals and fork gaiters were installed and fork bearings were cleaned and lubed as well. Additionally, new tires installed. All splines were cleaned and lubed, the input splines are in excellent shape and the rear wheel splines show about 50% wear. New foot peg rubbers, new grips, new rubber eyebrows were replaced, on the speedo/tach unit. The speedo and odometer work however, the trip reset is knob is missing. We cannot confirm that the indicated mileage is authentic due to the age of the bike and the unknown original owner. The bike runs and handles like it is supposed to and has no leaks. The gas tank is clean and rust free. A very nice looking and riding black BMW 90/6. The bike also has a new AGM sealed battery, new handlebars, grips, and four new turn signals. A new starter relay was installed for reliability. The voltage regulator/rectifier is an aftermarket solid state electronic unit. The winning bidder is asked to transfer a $500 non-refundable deposit via Paypal, and begin making arrangements for payment with me, within 72 hours of the auctions end.
