This stunning 2001 Acura Integra Type R #0235 has had the good fortune of never being adulterated, crashed, or having its engine blown-up or taken apart. The current owner and previous owner are both well-heeled NSX owning adult enthusiasts who bought the car to travel to and from their offices when not driving their NSXs and other exotic cars. The current owner’s recent order of a new BMW 1-Series M Coupe for his daily driver and decision to scale back the size of his car collection is what is making this Integra Type R available to another fortunate enthusiast. Below is a detailed description covering this Integra Type R’s different aspects: Exterior: The first thing you will notice is that the caring owner removed all Integra Type R exterior badges and decals to deter theft and vandalism of this highly sought-after sports car. The original badges are in pristine condition and included with the car (see photos). There is no rust and the all-original striking black exterior paint on this Type R still shines up nicely, but the nose is peppered with the rock chips and wear you would expect a 145,000 mile car to have. Unlike many other Type Rs, this one has no accident history as evidenced by all of the original VIN tag stickers being intact on all body panels as well as no tape lines. As you will noticed in the photos, this Type R does have some small door dings and a dent located above the driver’s side rear quarter panel, but the paint is not broken so I am confident these can be removed by Paintless Dent Removal should the new owner chose to do so. This Integra Type R is still equipped with its original wheels which were fitted with new high-performance Dunlop Direzza Z1 tries this spring and have had very few miles put on them. Interior: This Type R sports its original sport seats that are in excellent condition with only slight light wear to the driver’s side seat bolster (see photo) and the original Type R floor mats are intact. The dash is crack-free and the interior panels have never been cut to install an aftermarket stereo like so many other Type Rs have. The original CD player is showing an Error code 3 due to a CD being stuck in it. The car is equipped with a Viper alarm, which can be made functional again by purchase of a new remote. Other than these two items, the a/c and all electrical items function as they should. Engine: The engine is all original and has never been taken apart. The engine received a full tune-up by an authorized Acura dealership with all new spark plugs, spark plug wires, and filters less than 10,000 miles ago in December of 2010 (receipt included). The only modification is a top-quality Mugen Power stainless steel header, catalytic converter bypass, and full exhaust system that extends from the front to the back of the car, which the owner paid $2,000 to have installed by Acura NSX specialist Asteri Motorsports. All Integra Type R engines consumed oil when new and this one is no exception, especially with having 145,000 miles on it. The new owner could replace the valve guides to reduce oil consumption and smoke, but it is not necessary by any means as the engine runs strong. Transmission: A brand-new (not rebuilt) factory OEM Acura Integra Type R transmission was installed less than 2,000 miles ago at great expense along with a new clutch package and axle half-shafts so the car shifts as though it is brand new! Brakes, Steering and Suspension: The brakes, steering, and suspension are all tight and provide confidence-inspiring handling.
