1972 Other Makes Pioneer

1972 Ossa Pioneer. I have too many projects and too little time. Somebody is going to get a great deal on this bike. I restored this bike to ride in the 2003 ISDT Reunion Ride in the Berkshires. When I was in Parc Ferme Malcom Smith said to me the bike was to cherry to ride. But, I did anyway, and have not ridden it since. The new paint job got scrubbed up due to the wet and muddy conditions and as they say the cherry was popped. The bike has also sat since then with no Stabil and even though the tank was coated with a Caswell kit some paint blistering has occured. The bike will also need the carb cleaned. With a clean carb this bike should start up with one or two kicks and run fine. Other than that this bike is well restored and mechanically excellent. It has a complete motor rebuild by Alex Snoop. This alone was $1,400. Frame was powder coated though there is some wear from the event. The wheels were disassembled, cleaned,new bearings and seals installed, trued, new tires and tubes with new brakes front and rear. New bars, levers, lever covers, air cleaner leather cover, new decals, new seat cover, new seat knobs, new O ring chain and sprockets, all new cables, new grips. New fork seals and dust covers, new aftermarket shocks. Head pipe has been nickle replated with new nut. I've probably forgot some stuff but suffice it to say every nut, bolt, seal, bearing and doohickey on this bike has been gone through. It does have some slight rust on axle nuts and such from sitting but with a little elbow grease and a repaint it will be in like new condition. I would not hesitate though to ride it in any vintage event with nothing more than a good cleaning. It should provide years of dependable riding. This bike is sold as is where is.
