Here we have a 356 Coupe, NOT AN ORIGINAL CONVERTIBLE which was intended to be converted into a race car in the 70's. Project was not completed and car was left in a field for over 20 years. When saved from the field a tree was growing out of the interior. Rusty and my friend tried to manufacture panels and pieced in some VW parts to try and repair the car. Fabricated left front fender (told the light is a vw can), right rear fender and front bottom lip made out of sheetmetal. It appears that a VW convertible windshield frame is pieced on, not welded. Underside well rusted, no floor pans except for back seat location, as shown in picture. It appears to have original steering components and front end, but not 100% sure. It has an engine and transmission, but I'm pretty sure they are not original, I was told it is an old VW 1200 single port engine and a VW transmission. There are some old original parts on the car. It has a rear deck lid, two vent type, I believe it's original to the car. The car rolls when pulled by tow rope, steering works too. I do not have a title. I planned to make a car similar to that which Skip Barber raced in the 60's, do a search, you'll find it. However, I don't have the time to restore the car. No reserve auction and buyer is resposible for picking up the vehicle and for shipping. US only, previous bidder won and was unable to get import documents.
