Vehicle Detail

I rescued this bike from a barn in March of this year. It had been parked since 1976. I have gone through everything on the bike. Cylinders carbide treated at Bore Tech, Heads re done by Randy Long. New pistons, New tires, tubes. New engine & transmission seals, new final drive seals, drive shaft boot and hardware. Tapered steering bearings. New sealed battery of course. I put a 20 amp fuse in the battery circuit and added a plug for a battery tender. I did NOT cut any wires or crimp into the sstock wiring harness to do this. If you don't want these items on the bike because of originality just take them off and put in a heavy dripping lead acid battery and your back to normal! New silicon gaskets on the oil pan, valve covers, and air cleaner. You'll never replace those gaskets again. New petcock & new carb seals etc. It even has the original toolkit in the glove box. I had to drill the lock out since the key was long gone. I put a new lock in so the key to the new lock does not work on the fork lock. I would never lock the forks anyway even if I did have the key! The slingers did not need to be cleaned as the motor only has 6000 miles on it. I had to do the pistons and cylinders due to corrosion after it sat for 35 years. I am waiting for California DMV to OK the use of the proper year of manufacture black & yellow plate which is in my possession. I will be including an original paint 6.5 gallon sport tank with the buy it now price only. Otherwise it will be sold separately. The bike is a time capsule that starts on the first kick. I would like to keep her but reality has taken over. Here is a link to a thread about the bike on the ADVRider forum: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=701871Y You may never be able to find another bike like this one. Of course you can spend about twice the amount for a restored bike but you can only be original once! I've put 150 miles on it since I took the pictures and it runs like a top. Someone offered me $1*,000 the last time I listed it so I thought it was sold. He had to have a bypass operation so his family and I thought a motorcycle was not a good idea for him! I had to agree of course. I hope he gets better soon. Thanks for looking.
