This vehicle was purchased from a private seller in Hillsboro Kansas in 1996 and has been in storage most of time since 2004. In 2002, some repairs were: bodywork including new rear quarter panels welded in, new copper paint job and the seats were re-upholstered. The car does however need a carpet-kit for the interior. It has a 6 cylinder engine and was re-ringed 2000 miles ago. Two-barrel duel carburetors were rebuilt in 2008. It has a manual transmission. Recent work includes new: ball joints, tire rods, fuel filters, brakes, front-end shocks, and strut cartridge. Other included items not displayed in the pictures: rear bumper and one end cap. Metal oxidizes over time, such as the case with this 36-year-old car. Yes, the frame is rusty as well as the nuts and bolts holding it together. The shock towers also have rust. A better question to ask would be if these items are rusted through rendering the vehicle unserviceable. The answer to this question would be no they are not, it is true that the frame and shock towers have rust on them but they are not rusted out and still maintain the structural integrity to making this vehicle structurally sound. If you look at the photos of the inside of the car you can see a photo of a white plate over the floor board. This is riveted to the floor covering holes due to oxidization. Both floor pans have holes at the front of the floor pan, I do not feel that the entire floor pan needs replaced but the front section needs to be cut out and redone before a carpet kit is installed. I would not have spent the money getting the outside of the vehicle repainted if I did not first clean up the rust spots and as said in the text above for the sale I have new rear panels welded in. Next, the great state of Kansas considers this vehicle roadworthy enough to tag it. So I feel that it is also roadworthy, however I will not promise this car will make it one thousand miles due to the fact that anyone could drive it away from the sale and take the car out of gear and blow the engine in front of my home. I have taken this vehicle on long trips and it has done just fine for me in the past. If you are looking for a steal of a deal in mint condition, this is not the car for you. However,it is one of the fastest inline straight 6 duel carburetor motors Datsun ever put in a factory made car. I have disconnected the AC belts and put in a better fuel pump to supply fuel to the carburetors. I had the heads re-ringed and the block bored out, each of the six heads have great compression to supply power to the four-speed transmission to shoot this 260-Z down the highway like a rocket. If you read the text above, I also had the front end re-done because at one hundred and forty-two miles an hour the front end gets less responsive due to the fact that the car is trying to take off. I was thinking about buying a wing for the back end in hopes of finally pushing the gas pedal to the floor and finding the vehicle’s true top speed before I wreck it. My wife wants a vehicle with more than two seats, which is why I am putting it up for bid. If you want to go fast, bid on it, if not, don’t bid and don’t ask me questions. I have the clear title and no, I do not have a lean on my rocket car.
