Vehicle Detail

This is a 1994 300ZX in great mechanical shape, but needs some cosmetics to bring it to full restoration. I bought the car with the objective of restoring it both mechanically and cosmetically, however I'm short on cash - and need the money for tuition more then I need a fun little sports car. I'm sure I'll regret this very soon. The reserve price is the price Carmax offered me walking in the door + the ebay fees, I’m really only looking to get out what I put into this car, maybe a few hundred less. The buy it now option is set to the Kelly's Blue Book Trade in Value of the Car in "Fair" Shape. Since it's in better then 'Fair', it's not a bad price for the car. The good: It's a solid car, with a good frame, that's runs reliably. The T-Top’s don’t leak, the clutch is perfect (I believe it was replaced right before the previous owner sold it). Shifts solid through all 5 gears. No check engine light. The floor boards are all solid. Clean title in hand. Good Z rated tires all around, 1 missmatch from a the previous owner putting a hole in the sidewall while parallel parking. I completed the first stage of my restoration - Mechanically it does run very solid, and very strong. I attempted some of the work, but most got completed at a local mechanic's shop, receipts are in the center console. I did a compression check on it, and all cylinder’s are absolutely perfect. Not within spec, but exactly to spec, which is impressive for a car with 141k miles on it. Here's the list of what I have done: Replaced all old fuel lines. Replaced all worn coolant and vacuum lines 6 new refurbished injectors 6 new NGK Platinum Spark plugs new parking brake Brand new Optima blue top battery. New rear brakes New Left Side O2 Sensor New Anti-Knock Sensor Had the mechanic pressure test the A/C system. (Came back good). I'll include the recharge hose, or if you toss me $50 bucks I'll fill it full of R134A. It doesn’t take long to fill. I would've had the mechanic do it, but they wanted 200 bucks for the R134A that you can pickup at any Wal Mart for 50 bucks and fill the whole car. Here's the difficult spots of the car: The right Fender is rusted pretty bad, these can be replaced for about 130 bucks if you hunt around online, it's not Unibody - so these panels bolt on/ bolt off. There is a rust spot on the back right corner panel. The front bumper is in great shape, however - it's color does not match the car. The previous owner was only able to locate a white bumper. I'm sure any decent auto shop would paint it for cheap, I just have not investigated it. It is from a 1994 2+0 300ZX though, so it fits perfect. The rear bumper was hit, however none of the plastics were cracked, and the rear hatch operates correctly. The previous owner had it quoted by the insurance company at $630 to fix, but just cashed the check. It does need a new Radio. There is a old kenwood included, but it's pretty beat up. It does operate though. The seats, floor, T-Tops, dash, etc of the interior is in good shape. The only wear is on the steering wheel and on the shift knob. Both of those areas could use new leather, or there’s lots of aftermarket parts for covering steering wheels & shift knobs. Everything else looks fine. The car is located in Deerfield, IL. Anyone is welcome to stop by and take a look, or take it out for a test drive before the auction closes. Once the auction does close, payment and pickup are expected quickly. This car is in fine shape, and should be able to be driven anywhere, if you want to fly in / drive out, I'll pick you up from the airport, and if I have a spare hand around - we can meet you at O'hare with the car. If you choose to have it shipped, I'll help with whatever shippers you'd like. I've seen good qoutes from u-ship.com, but have not had any experience with them. Thanks for looking!
