Vehicle Detail

This is a 1965 Mustang Coupe with factory air conditioning, 6 cylinder engine, and the optional 4 speed transmission. It has sat in my garage since the day I bought it in 1992. No, it does not run. I don't know how much money it would take to get it running. I am not interested in trading for anything. It is not driveable, it is a project car that is partially disassembled. If you are still interested, here's the story on this Mustang: I purchased this Mustang almost 20 years ago from a Police Officer in Oklahoma City. He had owned it for years, and had big plans to restore it, but never found the time. Unfortunately, now I find myself saying the same thing. I paid the man $1500 for the Mustang, and drove it home. I had spent roughly a year looking for just the right Mustang to restore. I didn't want a rusted out piece of junk, and I didn't want a show car. I wanted a straight, solid car that had not been abused, had very little rust, and had a 6 cylinder. After looking at literally dozens of 1965 Mustangs, I found the one. Immediately after buying this car, I began buying every part imaginable for it. I spent almost $2,000 on new parts right away...all of which are still in the original boxes. There are a few very nice used pieces also. New parts include: tail lamp bezels, tail lamp lenses, inside rear view mirror, dash speaker, rear bumper guards, quarter ornament set, outside mirror, gas cap, turn signal lever, bumper bolt kit, fender emblems, Mustang emblems, battery hold down kit, spare hold down kit, gas tank tube, tail light gaskets, inside mirror bracket, starter solenoid, hood to cowl weatherstrip, front bumper guards, arm rests, shift boot and chrome bezel, fuel pump, plug wires, door and trunk weatherstripping, roof rail weatherstripping, blue windlace, trunk mat kit, chrome AC registers, 4 very nice used hubcaps, door handle gaskets, heater box, emergency brake handle, heater box foam kit, FORD hood letters, shift knob, kick panels, trunk divider, front and rear valances, front and rear bumpers, instrument bezel, battery tray, window felts, hood chrome strip, scuff guards, radio antenna, chrome valve cover, dash pad, new seat covers (installed already), door panels, and a glove box. That's all I can think of right now, but I know there are things I'm forgetting. All of this stuff has been sitting in the car in the original boxes for 20 years. After buying all these parts, I removed the interior, and started dismantling the car. Basically, that's as far as I got. I ran out of both time and money early on. It has sat untouched since then. All of the glass is original and in good shape. The car has very little of the typical Mustang rust. The floors have some small areas that could easily be fixed. No need to put new floors in. Rockers and solid, as well as the front fenders. There is a small amount of previously repaired rust over each rear wheel. The frame is solid. The dash is uncut, so that typically destroyed area is fine. I do have all of the hard to find AC parts. All of the body panels are original. The window mechanisms all operate smoothly. When I removed the seats, I sandblasted, painted, and lubricated the seat tracks before having the new seat covers installed. Please feel free to ask any questions or to request additional pictures. Also, I invite anyone to come by here in Norman, Oklahoma to take a look at the car in person. There are lots of original parts that were removed, sandblasted, and painted. The title is clear. PLEASE do not bid unless you have the funds and you are serious about buying. I hate to see this car go, but it is obvious that I will never be able to finish it. I have well over $3500 invested in this car, and that's in 1992 dollars. My asking price is much lower. Good luck with your bids!!
