Up for sale. 1996 Subaru Impreza LX all wheel drive 2.2 normally aspirated automatic 4 wheel factory disc brakes, A/C, cruise control, P/W, P/locks . Has 2.5 RS body work, WRX 16 inch wheels, and SPT stainless steel cat back exhaust. Black exterior, tan interior. No leaks AT ALL, no noises, no CEL, no problems, a/c blows ICE cold, just put gas it in and go. Car has 132xxx miles, has had all major and minor services completed, has new tires, and battery, about 1k miles ago. Car needs nothing, at all! Car is a current daily driver. Perfect 1st car, or great potential for Subie conversion. Carfax is clean. Oh did I mention it is the 1st 2 door Impreza ever built, yes this is vin number 1. Legend has it this car was the actual car Subaru used for the new model shows when the 2 door Impreza was introduced. After that it was stored in a container in California for many many years until a Subaru headquaters employee purchased it and put the 2.5 RS body work on it and his son drove it for a few years, I purchased the car from them. Somebody may do the same mods to their car as yours, but this will always be the 1st one ever built. Car is perfect for WRX or STI power train swap, because until you have all the parts for the swap you still have a great running car. Car is in Medford Lakes NJ, about 16 miles from Subaru HQ. I am 42 years old, non smoking, so the car is adult owned, and not smoked in. No food has been in the car either, unless groceries in the back. I also have a huge fear of being stranded, so if the car EVER needed anything it got it done, whether it be routine maintenance, or repair. There are no aftermarket parts on the car, except for a Sony CD player. Every other part is Subaru, not some brand x part. I work for Subaru of America head quarters so any servicing, short of a straight oil change, has been done by our tech center, not the corner gas station that always wanted to work on a Subaru. Some folks have been asking about NADA, and Kelley Blue Book prices, I checked with both of them, they have great prices, but no cars to sell for the $1000 they are quoting. Let’s be realistic, a new Impreza is well over 20 grand, and they are not making a 2 door any more. These 2.2 engines go well over 250k with routine maintenance so you would have the ability to get a great car for less than a ¼ the price of a new one. I did have some people ask if there was a local airport that would be Philadelphia, and it is less than 50 miles from my house, so if car was paid for in full I would have no problem giving you a lift from the airport to get the car from my house, or just meet you there for you to be able to drive the car to your home provided you already have your tags.
