Vehicle Detail
The Audi Quattro is an iconic sports car. Many experts predict it will be one of the most collectable sports cars. I was privileged to find one for sale in the mid-1990’s and proudly became the second owner of this car. The first owner was a school teacher and he bought the car for daily use in Park City, Utah where he took great care of the car. That being said, he spent a grundle of money trying to get the original motor to perform at its best, and he never felt like it got there. When I purchased the car, I too noticed that it never felt quite right, and after driving it for a couple of years, I had Walter’s Workshop of Salt Lake City replace the motor with a 5000 Turbo motor along with a new ECU, wiring harness, etc. It was the best decision I ever made as the car ran much better- then I started a family and a minivan lifestyle replaced this in 1999 and it was no longer my daily driver. The car was always my baby, though, so each year I had a few things added- K&N air filter, upgraded turbo hoses, European headlights, Compomotive wheels, Pioneer stereo and speakers, hood tie-downs, paint, a manual switch for the cooling fan and more, but the car was only driven 2-4 times a year just to keep it active. The car has always been garaged but recent events require that I sell our home, and I want to see this car go to someone that will continue to preserve it. The Good- It’s a 5000-Turbo motor and ECU upgrade that was documented online in the early 2000’s. The Audi-specialty shop made sure that original components were retained so the engine looks stock- but performs much better. The car has new paint, European headlights and bumper struts reduced to European specs. The stock stereo was replaced by a Pioneer detachable-face system and speakers, and new decklid struts and spark plugs were installed. The car has never been in an accident and the body is one of the cleanest I’ve seen. The electric locks work as do the power mirrors and windows (although the windows are slow). The Bad- Sitting for 12 years has made for rough running. The car fires over beautifully and idles very nicely, but I’m concerned the fuel injectors may need to be cleaned as it feels a bit reluctant when driving. The A/C doesn’t cool and will need to be serviced. The driver’s seat has an open tear in the bolster and both front leather seats have some cracking. The back seat is nice except the seams behind the headrests have split. The windshield has a very small crack in the lower corner but it doesn’t spread as it runs from one corner to the other. Included: · 15X6 Factory Ronal wheels (shown in photos off the vehicle) with snow tires with good tread · Stock Turbocharger · Stock Intercooler · Stock Wastegate · Stock Valve cover · Extra 5000T ECU · Original Quad headlights, frames, etc. · Original Owners Manual · Robert Bentley Coupe/Quattro manual · Receipts/Service history · Stock Alternator · Set of Door-ring decals · Boxes of sensors, wires, hoses, and more from the original engine This is a great piece of automotive history and I hate to part with it, but it needs another good home. Please contact me if you have any questions. If you want the 6 Compomotive wheels and tires (shown on the car), I’ll include them for $1500.00 more. They cost over $2500 plus freight to bring them to the U.S. Shipping of the car is not included in the auction, but we will do all we can to assist in lining up transportation if needed. I would not recommend driving the car until it has been checked by an Audi shop to see why there is hesitation. We require a $500 deposit within 48 hours with 10 days allowed for payment for the car. We do accept PayPal, Mastercard, Visa, or wire-transfer. Thank you for looking, and if you need photos of anything else, we’ll be glad to email you. The car is sold As-Is and buyer is responsible for transportation.
