Vehicle Detail
What I have here is a very cool 1960s customized 1951 Chevy Delivery Sedan. Best I can tell it was a customized in the 60s (body, lake pipes and lowering) then modded in the 90s (driveline and interior). I wouldn't call her a "Project" but would say she needs some work before you are going to win any trophies. Custom work includes: - 1954 Cadillac rear fenders and tail lights added with the gas line run into the taillight just like the Caddis were. - The hood has been pancaked (chopped 2") - Cosmetic lake pipes were added. - The interior is custom. - The driveline is a newer and rebuilt Chevy 350 w/ TH350 automatic transmission and a rear end out of a 1980 Camaro. - Newer fuse panel with plenty of open fuse links I just replaced the windshield and added side mirrors. Overall condition: Body 7 out of 10 Chassis 5 out of 10 Glass 7 out of 10 Interior 6 out of 10 Engine 7 out of 10 Transmission 8 out of 10 Rearend 8 out of 10 Brakes 5 out of 10 Since it is an older restoration it is due for a freshening up but overall in good condition. NADA books this car at $8250 low and $44,000 high. She is a cool custom but she does need some work So I am starting the auction at low NADA book value. The bad: - There is rust underneath in the floor pans and on two braces (bolt-on) but the frame is good. - She was lowered long ago by heating the front springs and welding the leafs so she rides rough. - There are minor dings across her (looks like she was left outside during a hail storm) but a quick skin coat before paint would clean these up with no issue. - The driver's side window is cracked If she doesn't sell I plan to do the following: - Purchase a cheap mid-90s 2wd Chevy S10 extended cab or longbed and shave the frame and driveline by 2" - Pull the body of the Delivery and patch the floors - have the S10 frame blasted and powdercoated and freshen the bushings and brakes - Drop the 350 onto the 700r4 transmission from the S10 - Drop the Delivery body onto the S10 frame giving her full newer suspension and disk brakes plus tilit power steering and a transmission with overdrive. - Get her blasted, skin coated and painted - Redo her interior w/wood panels and black carpeting I expect this work to cost $5000 to $10,000 depending on paint but she will be a $30,000 car at the end and one that I would drive daily. This vehicle is being sold as-is with no warranties written, expressed or implies. There are no refunds after purchase. Please do not bid until you have asked all of the questions you can think of.
