1974 MBZ 350SLC Runs Great...Fun to drive and turns heads! 40+ Photos below! Mercedes Benz SLC, the stretched pillarless couple version of the SL. The extra 14 in. of wheelbase allowed for reasonably roomy rear seat. Introduced immediately after the SL, the limited-production SLC became the top of the Mercedes' model line. Some called its handling crisper than the SL's, while others appreciated the added carrying capacity. But perhaps because of Ho-hum looks and its fixed top, the SLC never became very popular in the US. The model was discontinued after 1981. Today SLCs can cost 10-20 percent less than the SL and, in this respect, represent quite a bargain. Why buy this MBZ 350SLC? If you've been in the market for unique SLC, look no further. This is a great car. It was built with someones custom touches in mind which are quite nice: The two tone light gray interior looks great against the black exterior. The AMG style wheels add a touch of newer Mercedes Styling and adds to the more modern AMG ground effects on the car. The European headlamps give the car a much different look as well. There are a couple surface rust bubbles coming through around the rear window trim and the bottom of the trunk lid (see photos), all easy fixes when the car goes for it's next refinish. It runs and drives great and would make someone a nice driver. These are undervalued in comparison to the convertilble version which are helping to pull up the values of the fixed roof coupe version we have here.
