Vehicle Detail
1955 CHEVROLET PICKUP, MILD CUSTOM Thank you for looking at my listing. I will describe the best that I can all about this awesome looking pickup. PLEASE ask any and all questions before bidding. This truck has a very low reserve. This truck has been in our family since the late 1980's. My father bought this truck in original condition. It has been garage kept since. He drove it for several years before having a Mustang II crossmember installed along with a new 350 Chevy crate engine in the mid-late 1990's. Actual miles on the engine are unknown. However, it is estimated at less than 15,000 miles. It does not smoke and holds 50 psi oil pressure and starts right up every time. By 2003 the truck had pretty much just been sitting due to my dad getting an econo car and the truck having needed repairs beyond his scope of "wanting to" My dad and I worked out an agreement for me to fix its problems and it would eventually become our truck and my primary means of transportation for about 2 years. The work that I have done is as follows: Completly rebuilt the Mustang II suspension, including ball joints, upper and lower control arm bushings, tie rod ends, etc. Upgraded to 11" power disc brakes with dual reservoir master cylinder. All new components, bearings, etc. Installed 2" drop front spindles Installed 5" drop rear monoleaf springs with new bushings and hardware. This required c notching the frame for clearance. A drop-out transmission crossmember installed. New 2-1/2" exhaust with turbo mufflers 17" polished American Racing torque thrust wheels New brake lines, and anything safety or dependability related was addressed and fixed. This truck has a fresh coat of satin black with eye popping orange flames complete with lime green striping. Neither the paint or flames are perfect. Custom fit 1949-1950 Mercury grille sunken into the original surround. A true one of a kind detail. Has a nice gray tweed bench seat and matching headliner insert My word and reputation (not just ebay) are all that make a man in my opinion. I will now go into detail about the things this truck needs. Personally I would call it a solid start on a running driving project with all the major mechanical issues resolved leaving cosemetics and rust issues yet to be taken care of. The gas gauge is the only original gauge that works. It has squeeks and rattles. The rubber seals need replaced around windows and doors The powerglide transmission leaks a little. The body isn't perfect but isnt bad either. The bed floor is a sheet of plywood. If you know these trucks at all, you know where they like to rust. Over the years I collected all new rust repair panels (I think) that this one needs to be brought back to perfect . Both rear lower cab corners Both inner running boards Both lower hinge pockets Both front toeboards Passenger side rear fender repair section As a bonus I am including everything you will need to convert this truck to the wraparound glass, or big back window option. Any and all extra parts I have including extra doors, gauge clusters, trim pieces etc etc etc. Overall this truck is a very nice driver that really gets attention. It has been loved and taken care of but still needs more love to be perfect. Its a fun, dependable cruizer that you can have top-notch in no time. The flames were painted in a way that the rust can be fixed and not mess them up. It runs great, drives great, stops excellent, and comes with a TON of extra parts. Again, PLEASE ask all the questions you may have. I have many many pictures of this truck and will gladly send any you want to you. Bid with confidence-this is a great driving work in progress truck. I will assist in shipping of the truck as far as taking it to a location within 20 miles of my house and meeting with the shipping company to load it. I am willing to help the new owner the best I can within reason. Thank you and good luck.
