1996 BMW R-Series

Re-listing due to a non-paying / false high bidder. If you have no or low feedback, contact me first, or your bid will be cancelled. The bike is also for sale locally. 1996 BMW R1100RS 160,000 miles. Runs great, shifts great. Everything works. No problems. When my newer bike would not start for a trip to Daytona this March, I loaded my stuff on to this bike and hit the road. Included a side trip to Key West with no problem. Was in one accident. A deer hit in 1998. Repaired by dealer. Some tip over damage on left side of fairing. I paint penned it in. Could be done professionally if it matters. Normal, expected small paint chips (pin head size) for a bike with this mileage. I have done most of the servicing since warranty. It is rarely in the shop. I added heated grips this year. Recent front rotors (Speigler) (late 2009) BMW Saddlebags with City lids New front tire: Bridgestone BT023GT. Rear tire has about 4-5k mi. Plenty of life left. Couple of issues: 1 - The sidestand allows the bike to lean further than when new. I replaced the bushing. Either the side stand or the bracket may be bent. 2 - The rear shock is the original and is worn out. Should be replaced. The front shock is a Works Performance with over 100k mi. Works good, and is rebuildable. Great bike for highways and byways. I'll regret selling it. On Sep-05-11 at 11:44:12 PDT, seller added the following information: This bike does have ABS. It was optional, but I believe that most of these were imported as ABS models. Sometimes referred to as R1100RSA .
