Vehicle Detail

Beautiful, clean, pure, honest, original, time-warp, barn find, survivor, etc., example of a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air four door sedan. This beauty was owned by one family (father and daughter) from 1956 until 2009. Other than an ancient respray over the original (and beautiful and desirable) two-tone yellow and black paint scheme and the hubcaps, this Bel Air is just as she left the factory 55 years ago. The interior is completely stock and original with no modifications of any kind. The headliner is intact, the door jams retain their original yellow and black color, the carpet is all there and the dash is a work of art; even the dome light still works. The only flaws in the upholstery are in the driver side seat base and some seam unraveling in the rear seat back. I think the originality and purity of the factory upholstery is one of the major strengths of this car. The exterior is in very good condition other than the front bumper and four isolated exterior rust areas (headlight eyebrows, passenger side front fender behind wheel, driver side front fender on top and at the base of the drivers door). These are all minor repair areas and I will include replacement headlight eyebrows. The real strength of this vehicle lies in its accident-free history and its extremely well preserved undercarriage. There is absolutely no body rot anywhere underneath the vehicle, in or around the trunk area, in the engine compartment, or in the inner fender wells. Like I said, the only issues are easily repairable exterior areas; the bones are rock solid. BTW-I have tons of pics, email me and I will send them to you. The running gear consists of a completely stock 265 V8 running through a two speed Power Glide automatic transmission. The V8 was rebuilt recently and runs great. The entire vehicle runs and drives great. She starts, runs, turns, stops, etc. near perfectly. I wouldn't hesitate to drive her cross-country. We just completed a 200 mile trip and she performed flawlessly. The speedo/odo doesn't work so I can only guess at the miles. However, the oil change sticker on the door shows she had 85,427 miles on 2/21/72. Based on her well-preserved condition, she obviously hasn't been used much in the last 39 years. In fact, according to the daughter, this car spent most of the time between 1972 and 2009 parked in a secure garage. This is an excellent example of a 1956 Chevy Bel Air. She can be fixed up a little or enjoyed just as she is. In her current condition, she would make a great daily driver. My name is Chris and I can be reached at 435-669-1470. I would be happy to answer your questions. I am located in the dry, desert community of St. George, Utah (about 100 miles north of Las Vegas). Thanks for your interest.
