For auction is a one owner 1976 Pontiac Catalina Safari station wagon with 57,173 original miles. Four hundred cubic inch Pontiac V-8 with automatic transmission. Cruise control, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, power front bench seat, power door locks, and power tailgate window. Factory Rally wheels with brand new tires. This was the last year Pontiac built full sized cars. The car belonged to my mother who bought it new from Seltzer Pontiac in Chicago in 1976. She passed away in 2007 and except for the last couple of years, the car has been kept in a garage. There is some fading of the paint finish and some minor rust on lower portions of the car. A minor dent in the tailgate has been repaired. Except for a crack in the dashboard from the sun, the interior is in excellent condition. The wagon has the forward facing third bench seat that folds down into the floor to increase cargo space. With third seat upright, the car will seat eight adults. Our local mechanic checked the car for mechanical problems and only needed to replace some hoses that were weak and repair a leak in the power steering system. The A/C works but is not as cool as it should be. The mechanism to release the tail gate and drop it down out of the way is broken and we were not able to locate a replacement part in our area. The car runs smoothly and quietly. It is a real pleasure to drive. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.
