Vehicle Detail
Offering up my 1979 Ford crewcab 4x4 long bed PROJECT TRUCK. Right away I want it clear and understood that this truck is NOT running and driving. The buyer WILL be prepared to come with a trailer and take it back to his shop and will have to finish assembly of a few items before it is ready to go down the road. That being said, here's the story.... Orginally had F-350 crew cab long bed 2wd (Ford never made long bed 4x4 in these years) AND F-250 long bed standard cab 4x4. I had the 4x4 chassis professionally stretched (Not in my garage on a Friday night) it was welded on an alignment rack, cut, stretched, and filled the gap with 2x6 rectangle tube steel. The chassis, is straight as an arrow and will roll true. I then placed the F-350 2wd crew cab body on the stretched chassis. The 400 V-8 was professionally rebuilt at my local machine shop (the guy is good). He installed a new crank and two new heads. He did a mid-rise cam and a 4-barrel manifold, all new parts like distributor, plugs, wires and such. This engine was put together knowing it would sit for a while, it was well lubed and has been in the shop out of the weather. It still needs a Carburator, hoses, and small odds and ends. It will run like a TOP! Power train is a C-6 automatic (NOT rebuilt) and NP-205 transfer case (NOT rebuilt). front drive shaft is connected to Dana 44 High Pinion. Still needs rear drive shaft (will have to make custom shaft out of two original shafts) rear axel is Dana 60. The cab and bed are in really good shape! There is a small amount of rust in the lower part of two doors (you'll see in pictures, I held up a quarter for size). The roof, floor boards, drip rails, cab corners, ALL rust free. There is dent in Pass side rear door, but will be easy enough to pop out. Will have to install a couple of bolts here and there, the bed isnt bolted down, and the rear cab mounts need to be welded on. This is going to be a REALLY cool truck when its finally put together. I had a great dream, I just ran out of time and money! I have over $8000.00 invested into this project, but NEED to get it GONE! The winning bidder will be getting a very cool, unique truck, that's not going to take alot of work to finish. The buyer needs to be prepared to overnight me a cashiers check for $500.00 as a NON-refundable deposit, I will have this money order within 72 HRS, or the deal is off. The remainder of the winning bid will be paid in CASH when buyer comes to retrieve the truck. I WILL NOT ship this pickup, the BUYER WILL bring own trailer and I will help the buyer get the truck onto HIS trailer. I would be more than happy to answer any and all questions about this truck so the bidder is ABSOLUTLY sure of what he is bidding on. PLEASE send questions to jrenner81@clearwire.net and I will answer as timely as possible! THANK YOU FOR LOOKING!!! AND HAPPY BIDDING!!!
