Here is your chance to own an AUTHENTIC 1968 Mustang Gt Cs California Special. Sold new on 3/30/68 at the Hughson Ford in San Francisco, Ca. This one is on the registry with full Marti Report and tons of documentation. There were only just over 4,000 made and now only around 300-400 known to still exsist, making this one of the rarest most sought after classic cars on the market. Nada values this car at between $15k for a complete project to well over $38,000 for one that is restored. In years past, I have seen these sell for around $30k, but I am realistic as to the current market and economical times. This California Special stayed in its root state of Cali until I bought it and brought it here so aside from some minor blemishes it is a very solid car. The car runs and drives very well in fact was just driven over 600 miles without a problem, in the heat of summer! It has very nice Amercican Racing Vintage wheels with new tires. The interior including seats, headliner, dash, door panels and carpet are all brand new. It is still its orignal color combo, Wimbleton White with black interior. It also has power steering which is a great factory option. Now to what the car needs. The prior owner, not respecting the value of the car took some of the cs parts off of the car to build up another cs he had. Some have been replaced, but some still need replacing, the lucas square lights ($200), The side scoops ($150) The hood was replaced with a 1968 correct turn signal hood, The original has hood pins (can be redone when body and paint are done). Thats pretty much all it needs for parts. The car needs some body work and repaint. All glass is great, chrome is good. Basically it would be well worth a nice body/paint job. I currently have it insured for $16k, and after paint will be worth much much more. This may be the last chance to get an affordable California Special!!! California Plates and title ready to go, this car is still current on its registration and is a running driver. Thanks and good luck!On Aug-28-11 at 22:03:46 PDT, seller added the following information: I also have a 1968 mustang convertible 289 that i might consider selling as a package deal or seperately.
