The Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the fundamental basics for the modern-day Mercedes-Benzs can trace their heritage back to the 250 SE of 1966. It is a design that has evolved over the past four decades and perfected with time and fine-tuning. The 250 SE Mercedes was powered by a 2.5-liter six-cylinder engine that could achieve speeds of nearly 120 mph. This was a tremendous accomplishment for the five-passenger vehicle as it weighed around 3,000 pounds. Why buy this MBZ 280SE? If you've been in the market for a unique 280SE, look no further. This car gets all the attention mainly because it's a right hand drive! That's right, the photos are not flipped around. Check out the cool looking European headlamps! The car is in very good condition for being 45 years old. I'll start with the paint and body: Paint is average, obviously a much older repaint in tan with a dark brown (rootbeer) metallic top. There are a couple small spots on the passenger side where there are some rust bubbles starting in the paint. The underside is surprisingly dry (see photos). The interior: Seats are good, there is a small hole in the drivers front seat and some dry cracking on the passenger side top of seat. The wood on the dash is reasonably good, the wood around the front winshield is in poor condition. As you can see from the photos the door panels and carpets are above average condition. This 250SE is nice to drive. It fires up easily, holds a good idle, shifts good and tracks stright partially thanks to the radial tires on it.
