Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a very nice 1978 Suzuki GS1000, four cylinder, 1000cc, vintage superbike, with many AMA superbike upgrades and huge spares to boot. It has approx. 14,654 miles but I am riding it on occassion and the miles will go up a bit. First off, this bike fires right up and runs great. It has a very strong motor with K&N pod filters and a period Kerker 4-into-1 performance exhaust. It has a new battery, new plugs, and a new electronic ignition that does away will the original points and condensor set up. I did retain the stock parts. It has upgraded coils and plug wires. The front forks, DID 18" spoked aluminum rims, Dunlop race tires, dual front brakes/discs, steel braided Goodrich lines, seat, braced aluminum swingarm, and rear shocks, are off of a former AMA superbike rolling chassis. This bike handles and stops like no stock GS ever did. It is very stable in a straight line and really turns in and holds a line well. It is shockingly nimble for a big bore. It has 1 1/4" ProTaper bars and Renthal grips, with billet bar end mirrors. The hi/lo beams, turn signals, brake lights, work as they should. This bike is ready to ride anywhere and surprisingly gets 50 mph. It comes with a clear Utah street bike title. The spares that come with the bike are quite extensive and include a set of period Lester mag wheels with drilled discs (will take dual discs up front), complete Suzuki race prepped frame (No title for the frame), rear set race pegs, brake lever and shift lever, gas tank, side panels, throttle, Renthal superbike bars, clutch lever, stock coils, stock ignition, original steel swingarm with chain guard, gauge cluster, front forks, front fender, seat and rear fender assembly, front and rear axles, triple clamps, front brake master cylinder and lever, battery, and stock handlebars. This is a cool old school superbike with modern reliability. It is a user friendly hot rod that gets lots of looks and attention.
