This is a very nice 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente 2 door hardtop. We have the original bill of sale showing the car was purchased from Duffield Lincoln-Mercury in Long Beach California on 7-8-1964. We also have the original owners manual, as well as the original California license plates. This Comet has only had 3 owners and the same owner for the past 20 years.
The paint is very nice and was painted in the original Silver Turquoise color that is about 3 years old.
The interior is factory bucket seats with a center console only 1 year old, and done in original stock. All the glass is in great shape and all the windows roll up and down as they should.
All the stainless and chrome are in great shape, with both bumpers being rechromed.
The engine was originally a 289 with a 4 bbl, but now is a 351 Windsor with an Edelbrock intake a Holley carb, and dual exhaust.
The transmission is the original c-4 automatic and the rearend is the original with 3.25 gears.
The wheels are original 14" with radial white walls tires and stock hubcaps. The previous owner gave us a lot of extra stainless, extra headlight buckets, tail light lenses and other misc. parts that will go with the car. The previous owner took exellent care of this little Caliente but also picked up a lot of extra parts through the years just in case.
This is a rock solid 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente. This car looks great, runs great, and is a lot of fun to drive.
There is a lot of history with this great little Comet Caliente and you can tell it has had great care through the years.
