1970 Mercury Cougar Engine is not original and was replaced recently and has about 500 miles on it. was a 351 cleveland 2v, is now a 351 4v. has Holley 650 double pumper, edelbrock perfomer manifold, Comp. cam valve lift 494 intake and 494 exhaust, hydraulic lifters, forged pistons .040 over, new rings, harmonic balancer. Chrome tall motor sport vavle covers with chrome breathers, water neck, dist. hold down alternator. New Hooker headers, installed is the Ford DUI (Davis Unified ignition) racing distributor. New gas tank was installed a few months ago. Windows are good with no cracks or major scratches. 3 of the power window motors work, but occasionally the connection under the hood comes off. Just needs a new connector. March billet pulley kit is installed as was a new power steering unit from TuffStuff. New 2-1/2" dual exhaust with flowmaster 40's. This has a ford FMX transmission that was rebuilt when the engine was put in and it has a shift kit. It needs to be tinkered with though as it shifts way to quick. The bar from the Carb to the trans is in trunk and needs to be installed for the passing gear to work, I havent hooked it up yet. Rear brakes were just redone and a 4.11 posi traction rear was just added a few months ago. Body is not perfect. The car used to have a vinyl top and close up you may notice some imperfections on roof. There was some rust on corner of doors, behind quarters that has been repaired but not by a perfectionist. There are some rust spots and holes on floorboards. eventually they will need to be replaced, but they are still solid enough. The interior needs to be redone. The front seats are tearing on the bottom seat, but back seat is ok. The dash needs replacing as top is faded, ripped, and beyond repair. I do have a cheap molded dash cover that comes with the car but i'm not sure how it works. The headliner is new from previous owner but poorly installed. Needs reinstall and possibly replacing.
