Much loved Honda Element up for sale! Ready to go: MD State Safety Inspected, Title in Hand, No Bank Loan, Clean CarFAX, Cooperative Seller This has been a great car, it's the second Honda that I've owned, and I'd easily drive it another 90,000 miles except that my wife wants a new car and that's the way it works. This car has been so useful, it has a ton of room (with both side doors open, the opening is more than 5ft wide!), it's been completely reliable (not a single problem), and its fun (just don't try camping in the middle of the summer). Elements don't come in too many versions, but for a 2006 this model was the top of the line. EX-P = all paint, instead of ugly plastic fender panels. Automatic with Four Wheel Drive, alloy rims. Includes few extras my wife bought for me - genuine Honda front and rear floor mats plus a rear "cargo cover", also genuine Honda. I think the mats and cover each ran a little over $200. No other modifications, no accidents, no body or paint work, all original glass. There are two minor blemishes to the body, a small dent on the driver's side rear door and a very slight scratch on the right side door (see pictures). The scratch is small and can probably be buffed out. Dealership oil changes every 10k with some non-dealer oil changes at 5k, and I have many of the receipts. Fresh oil change about a month ago. It's on its second set of tires - first set lasted 44k and the current set is legal but I would suggest that they are near the end of their safe life. A/C is cold. I have taken good care of the car, it has a new battery and fresh front and rear brakes. Interior is clean, there are a few minor blemishes as would be expected for a used car. The floor is in excellent conditions (protected by the mats). The vehicle passed the MD State Safety Inspection, which is transferable to the buyer. It is valid for 90 days, it's on you if you let it expire. If the winning bidder wishes, I will provide a copy of the vehicle emissions inspection (VEIP) I passed in May 2011. The CarFAX is clean - it mentions a recall, but I have paperwork from the dealer showing that there are no open recalls on this VIN. I will make the car available for pre-bid inspection on Friday 8/26 from 5-7pm and Sunday 8/28 from 1-3pm in the Baltimore area. If you wish to see the vehicle at either of those times, you must let me know no later than 10am that day. I don't expect anyone to travel from afar to buy my car, but just in case, if you are serious enough to fly hear or take the train, please let me know and we can discuss ways to accomodate your interest. As for the details, the car offered strictly as-is, with no guaranties or warranties implied or expressed. Again, you are welcome to inspect the car, bring your mechanic if you like. The amount you are bidding on is for title to the vehicle - you are responsible for tax, tags, title fees, registration, shipping, insurance and all other costs (except the MD State Inspection certificate, which I will give to you). For payment, I will accept a cashier's check drafted upon a bank having a branch in Maryland. The transaction itself is straightforward: We fill out a bill of sale, we get it notarized, you hand me a cashier's check, I sign the title and give it to you, you own the vehicle. If you want, we can do this at the MVA if we can agree on a time. As a term of this sale, you are required to complete a Maryland Bill of Sale, MVA Form VR-181, even if you are taking the vehicle to another state. Please find VR-181 on the web, it is a standard MD MVA form. Maryland requires that I return the license plate - I will require that you have temp tags and proof of insurance for this vehicle before we complete the sale.
