This is a sharp S-10 with the popular 4.3L V-6 engine, automatic trans. electric shift on the fly 4X4 with Sport Side bed, full power and cold A/C. These Chevrolet S-10 & GMC Sonoma trucks are getting much harder to find and very hard to find equiped like this one plus with minor damage as this one has. This will be an easy repairable, most of the later model rebuilders require expensive parts & labor to be roadworthy but because of the age, this truck was totaled out with just minor damage to the front and rear bumpers, as can be seen in the pictures. No damage to bed or gate. The rear bumper was removed for inspection and to be repaired but then totaled. Now this will give a better look at what or what don't need to be done. The truck will drive great but I suggest to trailer all Salvage Rebuilders until repaired and registered in your name as most states require? The engine sounds great, full of clean oil and an up to date service sticker in windshield. You can see pics of dip stick and engine at idle with no engine or warning lights on dash. The tranny & 4x4 are also as you would expect and the truck runs down the road like a rabbit. I will continue to road test to be certin all is ok when sold.
The overall truck is in good condition with no rust, hail dings or any signs of off road use or careless abuse. There are some scratches, fadded pin stripes and a crack in the windshield but all from normal wear & tear and below average for the age and miles. The miles are great(low)for these 4.3's. They have a good history and will go the distance as we all know and this one sounds like what ya want to hear!
The interior is also in good shape with the plastic handles still on the seat bottom for the reclining seats(most are broke at this age). The driver seat is not broke down and hinge pins & bushings good in both doors(another common problem with these). No rips or tears in seat or carpets other than stain in left rear. No odors and looks to have belonged to a non-smoker.
N.A.D.A on-line and the previous owners insurance company(Allstate)quoted the actual cash value of this truck between $5900 & $6700. before damage. This same truck you and I could have bought 2-years ago for less money than what they are now! These are very popular trucks but I don't get it, they are getting higher instead of lower?
