1979 Fiat Spider. A great car to drive the rest of the summer and into fall. '79 was the first year Fiat introduced the automatic transmission. The car is equipped with power windows and a power lowering antenna. I purchased the car in 1996 and have driven it practically maintenance free for the past 15 years. Other than a set of brakes and a new battery the car has needed nothing. I have the oil changed and the tires rotated every year. I have always garaged the car and have never driven in rain or snow. BODY...the body is in great shape for a 32 year old car. No real rust to speak of, just a few penny size spots starting. Floor boards are solid. PAINT...The owner I purchased the car from repainted it and did what I would call an amateur job. There are some drip marks and the paint is thin. There are a few areas where the paint has been scratched off. ENGINE...Sounds and runs great. This summer there has been an issue with the car stalling, on occassion, at red lights when it is hot. May need a carb adjustment, hasn't inhibited my driving at all. The car does spot oil. New air filter. TRANSMISSION....This automatic shifts smoothly and does not slip gears. INTERIOR...Carpet, seats and dash are all in excellant condition. No rips, tears or stains but does show some wear for a 32 year old car. All interior gauges and switches work. ROOF...White faded with a few real wear spots but nothing all the way through. Small tear at bottom of back window, covered with tape by previous owner. I always kept the roof down so this wasn't an issue but is in good usable condition if caught in rain. Boot cover in good shape. CONCLUSION...If you are looking for a car you can just drive and have fun, this is the car for you. If you are looking for a car you can turn into a show car with minimal investment this is also your car. please ask all question you may have.
