1983 BMW 320i Alpina Clone This car is so much fun to drive! 30+ photos below of this BMW BMW introduced the E21 3-series as response to the oil embargo of the 70's and as a follow up to their 2002 model lineup. Ten million cars since 1975; the benchmark car in its segment; the worlds most sought after sports saloons and coupes the BMW 3 Series has become the standard by which all other small saloons are judged. Why buy this BMW 320i Alpina? The answer is simple. You could not reproduce this 320i for the price it will bring here on eBay. A lot of time and money went into the details of this particular car. Note the euro guage cluster, bezel and switches, the extra guages (top of dash) are installed on a hard dash saver so as not to harm the orignal dash, emblems, 15" fined alloy wheels, slotted and cross drilled front rotors, battery relocated to trunk, Alpine stereo and electronics upgrade with small sub in trunk, headlamp wiper system, front spoiler extension, ANSA muffler, free flow air intake, front strut brace, . The factory options include: factory manual sunroof and power mirrors. This is a nice tight driving car. We couldn't find much to do on this car in the way of repairs as it's been well maintined. We replaed the AC receiver drier and expansion valve and replaced the hazard switch. It looks like it still has the original interior which is in good condition for it's age (carpets are a little faded). The body is amazing! We cannot find any rust on this car whatever. Restore as you enjoy. 40+ Photos below on this 81K mile BMW BMW introduced these cars as a response to the Mercedes-Benz dominated large luxury car class and was very important in establishing BMW's reputation as a luxury sedan manufacturer. These cars were years ahead of their time as most BMW's are. In 1975 BMW introduced the 3.0Si fuel injected motor to the US lineup replacing the twin two-barrel Zenith carburetors used on the M30 motor since it's inception. The fully optioned 3.0Si was sold during the 1975 and 1976 model years. Why buy this BMW 3.0Si If you're looking for a nice solid 3.0Si to drive and enjoy while you're restoring it or simply looking for a great car to restore, your search is over. This is a very solid car to start with. The body is well above average with only a couple of very small rust spots in the usual places. The interior is original and although shows some wear and cracking in the leather, is testiment to the fact the car was not abused and more than likely has actual miles of 81,773. The dash is crack free which is amazing. This car must have spent most of it life covered or in an enclosed garage. I drove the car to our photo shoot spot and aside from the timing tensioner guides which make a little clatter, the car actually drives out quite nicely. It shifts good, brakes and tracks straight. The power windows operate (rears need lubed up), radio works, power driver mirror operates and even the clock was working (I don't know how well it keeps time). The trunk area is rust free and shock towers are in excellent shape. There is small rust spot on the trunk lid and on the rear quarter above the tail lamp. We replaced the valve cover gasket, throttle body gasket, water pump and thermostat and hoses, radiator cleaned and repaired, intake and exhaust manifold gaskets replaced.Please call me with any specific questions you may have.
