Here we have a 356 which was intended to be converted into a race car in the 70's. Project was not completed and car was left in a field for over 20 years. When saved from the field a tree was growing out of the interior. Rusty and my friend tried to manufactuer panels and pieced in some VW parts to try and repair the car. It has an engine and transmission, but I'm pretty sure they are not original, I was told it is an old VW 1200 single port engine and a VW transmission. There are some old original parts on the car. I do not have a title, however the VIN on the head of the car matches the door jamb, so a title could be obtained. I planned to make a car similar to that which Skip Barber raced in the 60's, do a search, you'll find it. However, I don't have the time to restore the car, my son has a 65 bug he wants to restore so I'm selling to help his cause. No reserve auction and buyer is resposible for picking up the vehicle. Engine compartment lid included, no vent covers, but hinges work well. Steering works when towed behind truck. Highest bid wins, no buy it now.
