Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a beautiful 1970 Triumph TR6C 650cc parallel twin with 2048 original miles. This bike runs extremely well and generally starts on the first kick, idles perfectly, and pulls very hard through the gears. The clutch and tranny operate like new and the brakes are very good for standard drums. I have owned three TR6C 650s and one 500 Trophy and this is by far the best running and handling vintage Triumph I have ever ridden. It has the Mikuni carb conversion that takes away the hassels of the old Amal carb. The stock steel handlebars have been replaced with an aluminum set of over-size flat track bars. It has a modern adjustible Triumph clutch lever and billet under-slung mirrors for a cool custom feel. Stock bars and a lever are cheap and plentiful. The case bolts have been set up for metric hex heads to make servicing more tolerable and the threads have been professionally heiliarched and tapped. Has a new set of fork rubbers, tachometer, battery, seat cover, and kick start rubber. Comes with a new set of rubber knee pads, two new kick start rubbers, and a new rear tail light lens too. There is some discoloration of the paint near the fuel cap. The high/low headlights and the rear taillight running lights work as they should. It will need a new rear brake sensor for the rear brake light though. The stock exhaust and muffler grill are in awesome shape, which is very rare indeed. Check my feedback and buy with confidence. Lonnie On Aug-08-11 at 20:41:06 PDT, seller added the following information: As a follow up to an emailed question, the serial numbers are TR6R DU 41032 on the motor. The TR6R designation was for a Trophy Sports Scrambler, which is an upgrade factory version of the TR6C, which would account for the tachometer, which the standard TR6C never came with. The TR6C and the TR6R were both 1970 production Scramblers, made in the Meridian, England facility. Thanks for the question! LonnieOn Aug-10-11 at 23:04:47 PDT, seller added the following information: *Note the frame number (serial number). It is a TR6C. See www.ianchadwick.com for info on the Trophy Sports Scrambler. Despite what I have been told in some emails, the Trophy Sports Scrambler came with a single carb, 7 inch headlight (not a 5 1/2) and a tachometer. Look up some photos of the 1970 Sports Scramblers. They are green, they have the big chrome headlights, they have a single carb, and they have a tachometer. Some show low bobber pipes with a cross over and some have high pipes. Dealers did offer options. I appreciate your well meaning comments but this is NOT a TR6R street framed bike made to look like a TR6C. The frame has the TR6C designation clearly stamped along with the serial number. Thank you for your continued interest and inquiries.
