Vehicle Detail
I am offering for sale my 1973 Dodge Challenger Rallye. It is a numbers matching car in "Lemon Twist" with the original 340 V8 and torqueflite automatic transmission. It has the original slapstick console shifter and 355 posi-rearend. This car starts and runs like a champ, and is very dependable . . . it has been a daily driver. The engine has been well maintained and it is tight with no leaks. For the purists, the air cleaner is from a Magnum 440 (dual snorkel) whereas the stock air cleaner should only have the single snorkel (looks better this way). The interior is very clean. The seats, console, and carpet are all excellent. The dash is unmolested and the gauges do work (rallye clock is intermittent, speedo unhooked). Original 8 track radio still works well. The car was not born with AC but it could be added easily. NOS parts were used whenever possible to maintain originality. She currently sports new American Racing Outlaw rims with new BFG tires but the original rallye wheels are included. Car looks great in the pictures and it is, but it will need bodywork. There is some bondo in the fenders, trunk pan is rusty, and there is surface rust under the base of the vinyl top. Included with the car is a new trunk pan, new quarter skins, and new vinyl top. The car has a brand new fuel tank and sending unit already installed. I have various other spare parts that go with the Challenger, including an original Mopar rear spoiler for the car ($!). The car also needs a headliner (does not have one currently in the car). The clear coat is peeling in areas and the dash and windshield each have a crack. So . . . she's not a Barrett Jackson car but she sure does attract a crowd when you stop at the gas station! You are welcome to view the car in person before bidding. The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Email me with any buy-it-now offers. I do have a clean title in my name. This is a great car to enjoy today and restore over time. With some bodywork, this becomes a $40K car. Thanks and good luck!On Aug-13-11 at 15:47:06 PDT, seller added the following information: Remember, this is a no reserve auction . . . high bidder is the proud new owner! I have shipped cars before and it is an easy process and less expensive than you might think. I'm happy to work with any shipper you want to line up. Again, feel free to ask any questions before you bid. Somebody is going to get a great deal!
