Please allow ample time for our high resolution photos and video to load. Thank you! 1971 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow as presented by... Texas Classic Cars of Dallas 1912 W. Mockingbird Lane Dallas, Texas 75235 Dave at 214-213-7072 or Maris at 214-616-2317 VIDEO BELOW / PRESS PLAY VIDEO ABOVE / PRESS PLAY The Silver Shadow was in development for approximately 11 years prior to its introduction in 1965. It was Rolls Royce's most significant motorcar since the Silver Ghost. The Silver Shadow was also Rolls Royce's most successful car with 16,717 units solid during its lengthy production run. This was quite an impressive feat for such a pricey automobile (The 1st year 1965 Silver Shadows base sticker price was upwards of $20,000). This is your opportunity to own a quality example you can drive and enjoy. It has been in a local Dallas, Texas collection for a number of years. This very nice Rolls Royce was restored several years ago. There have been very few miles logged on the car since that time. The owner/restorer used the car himself on weekends occasionally. We believe it has been at least 10 to 12 years since the restoration and engine rebuild. The exterior showcases a beautiful finish in Pearlescent White. Open the doors to luxury. The interior features restored seating and quality woodgrain and instruments throughout. The Silver Shadows utilized electronic controls for the air conditioning & heat. This example features power windows, power steering, power brakes, and power locks. The dash displays beautifully. The seating has been restored front to back in tan hides with matching piping. The 1971 featured a larger displacement V8 engine at 6.75 Liters. The engine is backed by a General Motors TH400 automatic transmission. It runs good. We have some receipts for work performed from 2002-2004. The alternator wiring was replaced. Shocks were replaced and other work performed to the sum of about $3,000. The engine compartment is clean and detailed throughout. This stately stance and velvet ride is thanks to Rolls Royce high tech suspension system. The Silver Shadows utilized a special hydraulic self-leveling suspension system. The original 15-inch steel wheels are wrapped in Firestone P235/75R15 Firestone Whitewall Radial Tires. The Silver Shadow features a high pressure hydraulic power disc braking system. The Silver Lady is in good company at Texas Classic Cars of Dallas. This Rolls Royce is proudly displayed on our showroom. floor. Texas Classic Cars of Dallas is located at 1912 W. Mockingbird Lane in Dallas, Texas 75235. You can reach Dave at 214-213-7072 or Maris at 214-616-2317 with your inquiries. The undercarriage features original flooring throughout in very good dry climate condition. Fly High or Ride in style, many of our photos were taken at the historic Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum, located only minutes from our showroom. The finish has been professionally polished and shows well throughout. The door panels are clean and detailed throughout. The trunk features matching carpeting and is very clean. complete with jacking equipment. The battery is tucked securely behind a carpeted panel as well. The original identification plate it in place. Further inspection of the engine compartment will confirm clean and detailed components throughout. The firewall, inner fenders and core support are in excellent condition as well. This is simply a well-cared for 1971 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow that has had much time and expense spent on it. You can reach Dave at 214-213-7072 or Maris at 214-616-2317 with any questions. Enjoy the remaining photos. On Aug-07-11 at 07:58:31 PDT, seller added the following information: A very knowledgable ebayer sent us this important information; Congratulations on your superb listing & gorgeous car. I observe that you have failed to give your vehicle all the "credit" it is clearly due. By this I mean that as a 1971, it is still called a Silver Shadow, but it is in fact quite a step up from the base model. Your car is 4 inches longer (all behind the front seats as your photos show, to give rear passengers more leg room comfort); and the rear windscreen is not the standard Shadow full-width size, but rather a significantly smaller & more coachwork-framed window for added privacy & a much more elegant appearance. The other true "give-away" is the serial number, beginning with an "L" (yours: LRX). In the Shadow series, an "L" as 1st letter meant a long wheel base model. A few years later, RR rebadged the long wheelbase model as Silver Wraith, and when the Shadow series ended in '81, becoming the all new monococque body Silver Spirit/Spur, the LWB model was badged Silver Wraith II. I hope you can use this info for your auction. On Aug-08-11 at 16:44:08 PDT, seller added the following information: WE WOULD ALSO LIKE TO APPOLOGIZE FOR THE INCORRECT VIN# IT IS ACTUALLY LRX10773
