This is an old 1966 Fairlane 500 my son found in a shed. Had been sitting for over 20 years. He wanted to build a 80s hotrod like pics of mine he had seen. He did it about right. First bought the crager mags...then a edelbrock intake....then a huge 750 dual line holley,MT valve covers ect. He tried to drive it and I made him replace all the brakes and hardware first( that killed his fun,lol). Then it lasted about a week and the top of the gas tank fell in....so it has a new tank(brand new) installed. After this it actually became a good car. Goes down the highway smooth as glass and steers perfect....has pwr steering too. The power top works perfect...has one small hole from texas hail storm but dont leak. Interior and paint need all....both are 45 yrs old and crap. Dash is nice though ...not cut up,has fac ac vents, and am radio. Heater works good and fan...ac parts gone on motor. (it would need updating anyway) Interior is Palimino( grey seat covers now) Has buckets but not correct. NO FLOOR SHIFTER....I would not let him cut flr board. The floor and underneath of this car is PERFECT with NO rust. How this ever happened I dont know....but it is really nice underneath. Body not wrecked but looks like lived at wal mart parking lot.The 105 weather here for 2 months killed the radiator and it blew the top off. Other than this car will drive anywhere(and has). Car with a little more money would be a easy restore. All mechanics done....just needs the pretty. $1000 for the interior,$2500 for the paint and you have less than $10,000 in a $17,000 to $20,000 car.Car is rare and overall good shape for its age.Always a Texas car and shows it. Clear title and tagged and inspected til next spring. NOT antique tags....this car is a driver....My son has bought a new dakato p.u. and now just wants to sell.Car is "as is". I took the radiator to the shop and it will be ready Monday....so car should be ready to go. I stated it had no leaks so want to recoupe that...it did leak just a few spots on my drive. Car was a daily driver up to the radiator so no reason it wont be again after fixed. Was good on gas and never has smoked. I was asked if had the original wheels and tires.....I do but they on my wifes car. Brand new tires and spinner 66 fairlane hubcaps. If I keep the cragers would put these back on the car if wanted and you rather it be original.( car is the numbers right 289 and trans) I do not have the correct seat for the fairlane....just the buckets. I have taken off the cragers and fat rubbing tires and put the factory wheels with brand new tires and the correct 1966 spinner hubcaps. Car actually drives smoother and rides better with the right ride and height. Car is ready to go and needs nothing mechanically. The cragers will not come with the car now.
