1965 Plymouth Fury III convertible with original 426. This is a super rare car. I was told that they only made 15 of these. Car is coded AB 80(see fender tag picture) which means it came from the factory with the 426. Car was made on Feb 3, 1965. Engine pad reads A426 HP 1 26(see pad picture), which means it was produced on Jan 26, 1965. As you can see from the pictures this is a very original car. Engine starts right up and runs beautifully. It truly is a delight to drive. It drives and stops straight, has good power and no rattles. Engine does not smoke. Power top works. I drove it 20 miles today in 102 degree temp and it did not over heat, and that is with the original radiator #2324989! Car runs and drives much better than it looks. I believe one could buy this and drive it home. Major needs for the car are rear quarter panels, trunk floor, paint, and top. Mechanically the car appears to be sound, engine DOES NOT need to be rebuilt. Under car looks solid only the expected surface rust. Car was originally red and current black paint is old. Actual mileage is unknown. This will probably be your only chance to buy one of these. This is a very rare car that needs and deserves a complete restoration. I crawled under the car today and the casting is 2532230- which, according to Galen Govier's casting numbers book, translates as 426 wedge, max performance produced from 1964-1966. Also I failed to mention that car has new Flowmaster dual exhaust system. Original heads casting number 2406516.
