It is always unfortunate, not only for the auction but for the previous bidders as well. The gentleman that was high bidder is deployed in Afghanistan. Although his intentions were honorable PayPal blocked his use because of his location I suppose. He was on a mission last week, only to return for a few hours and go back out. It's hard to expect someone in that situation to figure out how to bank over 9 hours out of our time zone. So, we start over and wish him Godspeed. This car defies typical descriptions. This car has been subject to a frame off restoration. The fit and finish of the reverse (the chassis side) of the car almost define it as a show car but the selling price will probably make it a high end driver. Regardless, it is a no reserve offering. It is a no excuses car. The body (and frame for that matter) are straight and look to have been free of rust or body damage before the restoration was begun (being a Texas car removes most all doubt). Obviously, this is an opinion born of much experience in restoration but private inspections are welcome, actually encouraged. The closer you get to this car the better you will like what you see. Let's start with the power plant. This is a 350ci block with Stroker Package. Experience says it is most likely a 383ci. The engine is a "ROLLER" motor, having roller lifters, roller cam, solid lifters, billet rods, steel crank, forged pistons, SS valves and valve girldles, ported and flowed head. The intake and heads have been matched. It has a Mallory C9 MAG Ignition, with a high quality header and a custom 2 inch big bore exhaust. The transmission, a Turbo 350, has had significant upgrades as well including: all upgraded heavy duty gear clusters and shifting mechanisms, a 2000 stall convertor and lightened flywheel. Further upgrades are a true adjustable suspension, Big Behr Brakes all around - controlable through proportional valving, Oversized Shock Stands, SS braided brakelines, and SS braided fuel line that is a full bore from fuel cell to engine to avoid any instance of fuel starvation. The car shows suitable shocks on all four corners (Bilstiens??), new Urethane Bushings about 3,000 miles back, a High Torque Starter, Hypo Sway Bars front and rear, custom drag links. The interior has been given a like amount of thought having Auto Meter Pro Comp Gauges, AB&M Pro Mega Shifter, Jazz Pro Seats, custom paint matched steering column, backseat deleted to complete the look (stock seats, front and rear are included with car). The windows are ALL power, the motors having been recently replaced. Both the a/c and the radio are deletes as is often the case in cars restored in this fashion. The wheels are by WELD, the tires BF Goodrich TA Radials 235/45/VR17 fronts, 275/40/VR17 rears. Give serious consideration to all of the care you can see was given, top and bottom. Our Jaguar Restoration shop estimated that this resto was easily in excess of $85,000, parts and labor (which is extensive, especially for paint) exclusive of the cost of the original car. So, this one easily exceeded $110G to put together. This car was purchased by my partner as a personal collectable. Lack of storage space is behind this sale but the extensive nature of the restoration was what generated his original interest and its purchase. Its simply impossible to build a car to these specs for most of us mortals. Its your turn to be immortal. The car is free of dings, scratches all around except for the smallest of a rub underneath from being unloaded from a trailer with too steep of a ramp. The car shows absolutely no evidence of having ever having been bottomed out, which is rare indeed.Warranty InformationAS IS - NO WARRANTY This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied.
