This classic Benz is ready for another 100,000 easily, because I have dumped so much money into keeping this car in the best shape that almost everything is new, so the next owner wins the 1985 Benz lottery. Bought from a friend who bought it from the original Southern owner. I have no idea what's going on in the VIN report saying 5 owners, but so be it. I'm only passing it along because I'm inheriting a hand-me-down and cannot maintain two cars in New York City. My wife literally cried when we decided to sell it. I've kept all my service records and can provide a reference contact for my local mechanic who has serviced the car for the last two years. This car has been across the country with me and I've kept it in the right shape to keep it trustworthy. Ready and waiting for biodiesel conversion. Starts right up even in the dead of a New York winter. No rust! None! Mechanically, you can't lose on this purchase, and it still looks pretty great and will always be classier than most anything on the road. This is a daily driver. I never worry about whether it's going to start because it's never let me down. Just drove it the day I posted this for 6hrs! on the highway, average 70-75mph, no problems whatsoever! Brakes JUST totally overhauled. As for the accident reported in the VIN report, I believe the original owner was hit and had damage to the gas tank, which was replaced. My mechanic in Brooklyn said the replacement was of poor quality and we replaced the replacement. No frame or residual damage at all. Premium tires with good tread. Overhauled vacuum system. Brand new $700 Thule bike system. Windows and sunroof work great. Pioneer CD stereo w/good sounding speakers. Leather's in good shape. Like many of these models, I have addressed the big issues and have not fixed the A/C or the cruise control which are both not working. Paint is in ok shape; there are some scratches and it is just starting fade somewhat. I think a good Simonizing would do the trick. Areas of the dash have cracks in the mahogany but nothing major.
