It's time for the care to move on and find a new home and someone that will enjoy it and get some use out of it! Some of the previous listings have not worked out so I am making this one hard to pass up! This is a NO RESERVE auction!!! If the car only brings the opening bid then so be it, I just do not have the time or space to devote to the car and hate seeing it sit inside my shop not being used! The car is in great condition and just needs a new owner as I do not have time to drive it and would like to have my garage space back! I am open to any offers or trades or equal or lesser value. The car does not need anything in order to begin enjoying it...just someone to work the controls....is this someone you? The car starts immediately and runs great! Up for sale is a very nice example of the 1974 Mercedes-Benz 450SLC Coupe with 57,163 original miles. My father-in-law purchased the car on Ebay from Daniel Schmitt & Company of St. Louis last year. The car has been garage kept since he purchased it and he recently replaced the following items: 4 new tires, fuel pump (developed a leak, possibly from age) plugs, wires, cap, points and condenser. The car is in excellent shape and only needs a few minor things fixed before being an absolutely perfect car, in my opinion. The only things I am aware of that need replacement are as follows: some of the weather stripping because of wind noise; the trunk seal may need replacement as I noticed some light rust inside the passenger side trunk well (have read this is pretty common to these models). I am selling this car for my father-in-law and will be happy to answer any questions, take any additional pictures or entertain any offers on his behalf. As he is really the expert on Mercedes, having owned countless models over the years, I will have to defer to him on some of the more technical and/or detailed questions. The car was purchased as a "toy" and he has realized that he does not have enough time to enjoy or drive his "toy". He passed it along to me to free up some space in his garage and while I like the car I just don't have time to enjoy it and it doesn't accommodate a family of 4 (with 2 crazy boys!) very well!
